No, those pic.s are from the bottom. And the work you can only do from the bottom.

I just want to make sure there is no confusion here. This thread is talking about what I think is a housing that comes off of the water pump.

Just want to make sure you Are not thinking about the thermostat.

Nope, I just want to double check those "screws" so i can prevent a future leak.

Gotcha, that's a good idea. If mine had not leaked, and I saw this thread I would do the same. All we need is to be out wheeling some where and have it start leaking. I carry my set of T drives with me as part of my recovery gear.

I find it interesting that the 2.0T Giulia has a pump and flange that looks the same. yet I've never seen one leak. I even checked a 2017 and they were tight. I feel this is a Jeep QC issue where they had an out of spec torque driver.

Agree, someone was smoking their lunch that day or, an out of cal. Torque wrench 🔧. Or they didn't care.

At least we now know about it and it's pretty easy fix.

Having been a manufacturing engineer, I chalk it up to it being a Friday, just before a long holiday weekend or they were threatening to go on strike. There were a number of loose items on my Jeep, so I figured it has to be one of the three previous mentioned ideas.

#2 are the bolts. Just to make everyone feel better, I developed an oil leak and the bolts on that heat exchanger (to the right of the #2 on the pic). Tightened those up and no more leak.
