I wouldn't rush in and sign up for the V6 as the new 2lt will blow the old V6 van engine away.

Is the Turbo automatic only or can i still get a standard? Sorry if that is a dumb question.
Manual can only be ordered with the V6; no Turbo, Diesel or whatsoever...
Less options, but I love driving manual, and I love me some N/A engine :)

Well, some posters are saying that this engine is already out in other vehicles and they have experience with it.

I've said it before: make sure you find a place that actually has 91 so you aren't paying extra for 93!

A properly designed modern turbo shouldn’t “go out”. I had an Audi A4 with a 2.0T which had 170,000 on the original turbo and it still ran great. A friend of mine put nearly 300k on his before replacing the turbo. If Jeep (Fiat) designed and manufactured it correctly, it should provide many years of reliable performance.
I agree in theory but having an audi/vw 1.8t I'll avoid turbos in a situation like this where the advantage appears slim. If there were a special model or power gain significantly different than the base engine sure, but it doesnt appear to be the case here.

Then again its a wrangler so tuning the turbos or dropping a FMIC just so it can do a 0-60 in 6s is not where Im headed.

Wait, you just placed "Fiat" and "reliable" in the same sentence? :)

Sorry Matthew, I am not sure if I would lose my job especially since we have the corporate girls on here with us. They are in boxes anyway and we are not allowed to open. Kind of have mixed emptions since I ordered a new Rubicon last Wednesday and now you can get this engine....still don't have a VIN yet but I do have a VON..wonder if I/should change?
