I ordered March 19 no turbo in inspection frustrated but I am sure you are more than me
I think they just started building the Turbos so hopefully things will move faster now

Torque is how much power the engine can make. Horsepower is how fast it can make it. If you're buying the 2.0L thinking it's going to be a lot faster than the 3.6L, you're going to be disappointed.

"But I can tune it and make big power!" Maybe...but not for now you can't. FCA is using secure gateway encryption and the word on the street is that unless you have the key, you cannot make changes to the ECU. And only dealerships are being given the key as of now. With all the sophisticated (and problematic) new technology under the hood on the 2.0L, I expect FCA to guard those ECUs very closely.

As far as why it's automatic only, the reason is because it's easier to control emissions and pass EPA testing with automatic transmissions. That's why we've seen V8 Camaros and Challengers hindered by "skip shift" features on their manual transmissions for many years. And it's the reason we haven't seen a light duty diesel 4x4 with anything other than an automatic trans. in the last 15-20 years.

We're lucky that they even offered the 3.6L with the manual.
Someone with enough motivation will be able to crack the encryption with a keygen of their own.

an engine is just an air pump, add fuel + spark it goes bang!! to get more out of an engine you can rev it aka sport bikes, every rev is a gulp of air, you can use a bigger engine aka air pump, hence big torque down low with more cubes, then theres forced induction that forces air in above atmospheric pressure for more power. the beauty of forced induction is it can be tuned for more power in different rev ranges providing pinging is controlled, enter todays DI that cools the burn + allows higher cylinder pressure which is the bottom line at lower rpms without pinging, + premium fuel is not needed but with it even more power can be made!!

im willing to bet most people ordering the Turbo are doing so for sure he increase in power and acceleration not the gas mileage
100% correct , I don’t care about MPG Personally

the big reason for littler turbo'd engines is to meet CAFE aka mpg's. manufacturers are penalised $$$ if they fall short. since most are conservatively tuned turbos there will be a lot of room to make more power, but kiss your warranty BYE!!

Can I count the Ram 2500 with a 6 speed manual? Sort of Light duty, "medium duty" is silly anyway.

The way the 2.0 is gonna seem faster is under normal driving. At the same midrange revs, you're gonna be accelerating faster. In a flat out race, it's not gonna be much quicker.

CAFE standards get us unnecessary horseshit like ESS. Sucks. An environmental penalty is probably paid by FCA for making so many low mpg Wranglies.
