This is the Alfa TB and intake. Jeep is similar but different layout.

Par for the course with turbos. It’s a slippery slope. One day I may try a moderate tune and call it a day to maintain a safety margin of some sort.
A nice tune to optimize intake, exhaust and towing... is about all I’m looking for!

I like to mod platforms for efficiency...

Learned this about myself when my wife’s dream car was unexpectedly a JUKE NISMO RS... which parts are incredibly cheap for... lol :CWL:

That experiment worked out reasonably well. (It was ridiculous but the only way I could bring myself to own it) SMH :surprised:

So it is actually... a cooler post throttle body!

That is really slick!

The only efficient way to add a traditional air2air would be some type of top mount cooler... kinda like WRX’s had! That would need a functional hood as well.

Considerable amount of designing and research but would be pretty excellent.

Fun to dream

Interesting link here. The Dodge Demon uses the AC fluid to supercool the liquid used for the liquid to air IC.

Seems an aftermarket kit to do this for all sorts of other Dodges, Fords, etc, etc.

Might be worth checking out.

I'd rather figure out how to tap into that etorque. Does anyone know how much, when or where it actually assists?

Per the video below:
2.0 = 70 ft. lbs.
3.6 = 90 ft. lbs.
5.7 = 130 ft. lbs.

I've seen a few different maximum RPMs for eTorque, still trying to find that info (it's probably around 1500 RPM)

A Ram product specialist said 1500. It might be similar for the 2.0 but if one could get assists up to 2k where I believe the boost begins to be a factor (maybe a bit higher?) that would be ideal if it isn’t already that way.

Before I got my first Jeep I was running a Fiat 500 Abarth with a stick (5 speed). Drove it all over the place. It had a Dr Jeckyl/Mr Hyde button on the dash that turned on the performance ramp in the ECU. That thing was some crazy fun (and a little bit dangerous) to drive. Fiat is as good as the Japanese at turbo motors with a split personality. What I'd like in my JLUR is a dash button that activates a torque ramp. Everyone is correct in that engine/trans temp will be a challenge in the JL.
If I could own 2 cars, I'd still have that 500 Abarth....
With my Dynamax exhaust pipe, my JL sounds just like the 500. Pleasant but not too loud, and just a little bit evil.

I've also seen HP numbers quoted somewhere for the BSG, and they indicated that it wasn't producing peak torque at 1500 RPM. The torque must taper off for a smoother transition.

Have a video by any chance? I need more sound from mine.

From what I've gathered the eTorque system monitors current draw and once the primary engine is delivering power and taking over the load it shifts to generator mode.

Interesting... I think this means we could hot-rod eTorque with a diode.

I wonder, if that’s the case, what the threshold would be and if it could be changed without adverse affect. Surely there is a downside or FCA might have gone further.

I did some figurin': 70 lb-ft = 95 Nm

95 NM @ 1500 RPM = 15 kW (According to this calculator: https://planetcalc.com/1908/)

The 48V battery is rated at 430 watt-hour, which should mean that the battery will last 1.72 minutes with the BSG at 1500 RPM (not accounting for charging the 12V battery, conversion losses, voltage drop, etc. and assuming that the motor is capable of max torque at 1500 RPM)

Hopefully my math is correct.
