I owned a 95 Wrangler with the 6...was a dog with horrific gas mileage...owned a 2012 Unlimited with the 6 and it too was a dog with bad gas mileage...now looking to purchase a 21 Unlimited and contemplating on the 6 or Turbo...likely going with the Turbo

My wife and I both consistently get 21mpg on our 2.0L Turbo's with Rubi wheels (her's has M/T, mine has A/T)

I have a 2018 2 door Sport, 2.0T, E- torque, and consistently get mid to high 20s on stock Bridgestone Duellers.
Fuel is 89 octane colder months, 90 octane, non- ethanol in summer. Plenty of punch, fun to drive.
" Good mileage" and " fast " once were words that NEVER occurred in a sentence with " Wrangler "...

Same here. All stock, run 34 psi, deal flat roads. I constantly get 21 mpg all the time with my 2.0 JLR auto. Actually a little better, around 22-23 mpg, in the summer on summer gas. I have seen as high as 26 mpg on highway trips. It's pretty incredible when you consider how much power and torque this engine makes. Effortless acceleration from 60 mph to 90 mph on highway also. The power band and extra torque is really nice and fun.

I owned a '97 TJ 2.5 4-cyclinder automatic and a '15 JK automatic. The TJ was a dog and only got about 15 mpg rolling down a hill. The JK got 19-20 with a back wind under ideal condition. Power wise it was better then the TJ but not any where close to the 2.0 in the JL. The 2.0 is a LOT better. Both power wise and mpg wise. Probably due to 2 things. The turbo's fat torque curve that starts very low in the rpm band. And the excellent ZF 8-speed. It really is like night and day. I'd say the same about the 3.6 JL and 2.0. You probably won't miss the torque if you drive a 3.6 JL and never tried a 2.0. You will definitely miss the torque if you drive a 2.0 and try a 3.6. It's not a knock on the 3.6JL, it is a very good engine. It just does not have the extra torque of the 2.0 turbo. The 2.0's extra torque is addictive. The mpg and extra driving range is a bonus.

I drove both yesterday...did not see much of a difference between the V6 and the turbo...turbo was a bit better though but not by much...to me it was not worth the 1500/dollar expense for the V6, so I went with the turbo

On the Canadian build site there is a $400.00 difference between the 2.0 (ESS 1595.00) and the 3.6 eTorque (1995.00). I'm considering ordering one and drive mostly on the highway to and from work. Which would be the better choice for a daily driver?

If gas mileage and "get-up-and-go" are your concerns, go with the 2.0. If tried and true matter more, go with the 3.6...

My 2.0 has thrown more codes (not really engine specific things though) than I can shake a stick at, nothing serious yet, just stupid stuff... My wife's 2.0 hasn't had any codes... Both are 2018 Sahara JLU's... Mine has 25,000 miles, hers has 17,000 miles...

I drove a 3.6 2020 non etorque Willys and a 2021 Willys 2.0 turbo (no etorque).
To me, the 2.0 was much more peppy and held it's speed better on the highway with the cruise on at 75MPH up hills.
I was leaning toward the 3.6 for reliability, but couldn't buy it after driving the 2.0.
And, with a $1,500 savings along with some fuel savings, that would pay for a lot of repairs after warranty.

I headed out to buy one off the lot. Had pretty much decided I didnā€™t care which engine. My Rubi had virtually everything on it I wanted. It just happened to come with the 6. Maybe when gas hits $5 a gallon Iā€™ll be crying
have you cried yet? šŸ˜‚

I have a 2.0 non etorque and just passed 45000 km, not a single hickup and Iā€™ve crossed snowy mountain passes, went dune bashing in the Sahara for a week straight, with the only asphalt trips being petrol and beer runs and also been on the autobahn pacing 100mph for hours and not a single hickup. I think you only tend to hear from people who have had troubles, so i thought Iā€™d chime in with some positives too.

The Jeep is no rocketship but the turbo sure helps to put the peak torque down low and feed the engine plenty oxygen when you reach higher altitudes.

Itā€™s an impressive power plant for sure, time will tell if Iā€™ll change my mind (fingers crossed i wonā€™t) but so far everything tip top.
