So we all know the 2.0 sounds like a jet engine at a cold startup for roughly 1.5-2mins.

Do you guys let it idle out and the rpms drop to or below 1K before you get going, or do you start it up and let her rip?

I keep mine in a garage so I just pop the door, turn the key & back out. I do baby it as I have every other vehicle I've ever driven until it comes up to temp. Frankly I still baby it after it comes up I'm not a aggressive driver.

Mine stays in the garage as well. I usually remote start then head out. Sometimes I wait sometimes I don’t for the rpms to drop. I live on a hill so I find that it jumps between 2-3 up and down shifting before it’s warmed up enough though. Just curious to what everyone else does.

I just start the Jeep, wait a few seconds and try to keep the RPMs under 2500 for 3-4 miles.
Not waiting those couple minutes for the Jeep to warmup could also increase MPG.

I let mine get to a 100 degrees before I set off. It usually takes a couple of minutes. On colder mornings, I'll hit the remote start.

Once the cold start sequence is over is usually when i actually start driving. Not a fan of shifting into gear when idle is over 1.2k.

Ours is my wife's dd. She just starts it and takes off. Did the same thing with her old 2013 JK and no engine problems for the 7+ years she drove it.

I usually wait about 30 secs to let the oil circulate before putting it in gear and then take it easy the first couple of mins of driving. I try not to let this DI engine idle too much.

Regardless of season, I let mine settle down to normal idle before heading out. And same as many others here, I take it extra easy for the first few miles, until everything temps up to normal.

I'll only idle for less than 30 seconds if any and that's more of me setting the radio and fixing things around the cabin instead. I usually drive immediately to get the fluids up to temp but will stay around or under 2,000 rpm until then. Never high rev or go into highway speeds until she's warm completely. Pretty much the only time I will granny drive is the first 5-10mins behind the wheel.

I let it run long enough for the oil to get pumped up through out the engine. Then I drive away. By the time I reach the end of my development it's warmed up some. These motors warm up fast.

I let mine warm up until the rpms drop down, but coming from a Diesel I am used to that.
