The Wrangler is surprisingly absent. I say that because I've two documented purchased offers (Carvana, Vroom) for my JLU that exceed the price that paid for it, new. I'm hardly the only forum member to have received such offers, too.

Yeah since I bought my JLU in November I have been watching the resale prices of the JL and JLU's. Not that I want to sell mine, but when the guy tried to sell me gap insurance which I turned down with a " Why I's worth more as soon as I leave the lot" statement. SO I keep an eye on just to re-justify it to myself. I'm seeing Stock or close to stock with 20K or slight under going for almost what I paid for mine new. Maybe it's my area kind of thing.

Jeeps have for decades now enjoyed comparably high resale values, and at a national (not local) level. Thus their intriguing absence from the list in the linked article.

This is doubly true when considering that virtually every member of this forum is as close as possible to having our hand on the pulse of the JL's pricing and availability trends.

I had to sell a late model used car this year (not a Jeep). Procrastinated a few months and was mad at myself for that, but the value rose 25% by end of April when I did sell it.

I just ran mine through Carvana for the heck of it. 22 model with ~3500 miles. Came back at 33k. About 13k under sticker. I have always done well with Jeeps resale wise. I’m a little shocked at how low they shot this one. A couple of months ago when I was still looking at buying, a new one was cheaper than a comparable 6k mile 2 year old model similarly equipped. Its going to be interesting to see where the next few years take us with all kinds of values.

They are having money issues and just did a massive layoff. I wouldn’t expect to see many (or as) high offers.

EDIT: Vroom offered $39,609 and Carvana wants me to contact them for manual review.

Yeah didn't their stock drop like 60% or something and someone pulled their credit worthiness due to cash flow issues. I read it last week or so.

My 2018 JLUR was totaled in Feburary, and State Farm gave me what I paid for it - 4 years later. I wonder what led to the Wrangler being absent from this list? Bad data?

The Wrangler might just be #16 and not make the list.

2 months ago the Wrangler would be at the top of the list. I think that recent gas prices are putting the good MPG vehicles on today's list.

That's a good point, they're going by percentages. The Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent barely have a markup, but made it far up on the list because they're cheap cars.

I hadn’t read anything about them. I guess they are already tightening up. They have a place here in town I saw a while back. I was kinda surprised but I assume it’s some sort of staging lot.

I don't know that I'd call the G Wagon or a Corvette and several other's on the list good MPG vehicles.

I think it's probably more related to availability of stock and parts to build new vehicles. The supply chain constraints continue to make it difficult for car makers to build new cars. But some manufactures seem to be having more trouble than others. While I wouldn't say new Wranglers in dealer stock are plentiful around me, they are at least available. I've been in to my dealer a couple times in the last month and both times they had 3-5 new Wranglers on the lot. Late last summer when I was looking there were virtually none on the lot.

What is the average wait time now on a new order? Last August when I ordered mine my dealer told me 8-12 weeks. I drove it home 10 weeks to the day. Granted some waited much longer, and some much shoter than me. I check the build sheet and sticker tracker occasionally and the number of orders with updates each day for the last few months seems to be about 60-75% higher than last fall when mine was being built. This tells me that Jeep isn't having too much trouble building new Wranglers in pretty high volumes.

A buddy at work just ordered three different vehicles: Chevy Traverse, Hyundai Palisade, and a Kia Telluride, put refundable deposits on all three. All three dealers told him it could be up to a year. He's going to take the one that comes in first.

I bought two vehicles from them. One was successful and the other resulted in a NDA… Maybe in part why they require a manual review to give a quote for my Jeep.

The vending machine was a neat gimmick.

They aren’t. My comment was just a reason why Jeep would no longer be on the list and things like the RAV4 Hybrid are. Jeep dealerships are still wiped out of new inventory and with the 2023 redesign ordering is limited; however, demand and offers from dealerships to buy and flip used Jeeps isn’t as strong as it was 2 months ago due to the raise in gas prices.
