6 peacetime deployments with 1/6 and 1/3.
OIF 2003 with F 2/5, attached to 2nd Tanks.
Ramadi 2004 with Weapons 2/5, where I was medevac'd 49 days in. @Sean L, sounds like we were in that area around the same time.

Had various interesting jobs after that, including acquisitions, SOI, and the Marine Liaison to the substance abuse and PTSD clinics in San Diego. I transferred back to Quantico, and served at OCS, and the Staff Academy, then transferred to the Wounded Warrior Det at Bethesda where I retired out of last month (May 2019)

Waiting to get some $ from the VA for adaptive vehicle stuff, and will purchase a new 2018 JLU Sport that I've put a down payment on.

I participated in the Reno Rodeo Parade yesterday as part of the VVA. Our entry was Welcome Home Veterans. Fun walking the route talking to veterans, welcoming them home and handing out P-38s. Our pull vehicle wasn't a Jeep but pretty close Welcome Home!

@pangmaster- I understand about the nostalgia. This is my first Jeep, but I have been trying for years to get a CJ or YJ. It's difficult to find one with an automatic transmission for a decent price, much less one with cruise control (for the obvious reasons- I'm lazy LOL). I'm still looking, but the JLU ought to curb the Jeep fever for at least a little while!

@jack0351 I had an 04 Sahara that I traded in on my 19 JL and man this JL is light-years ahead of the TJ. I would have definitely bought a 2 door Sahara if Jeep would have made one. But I digress. I'm super happy with my JL Sport S. It's so much freaking fun

When I got to Ramadi I was with 1st ANGLICO attached to the 2/2 BCT HQ, so we would get sent out and attached to the various units that fell under their command. I saw a lot of 2/5 guys there so its very likely we walked right past each other at one point or another, depending on the dates. Very unfortunate to hear you were MedEvac'd. Ramadi took too many of us.
