I took my 18 JLUR in 10/8 for a CEL. On the way there the Seevice Locker System light flashed on for a few seconds and I got a warning ⚠ ding. Three days later they fixed the CEL, steering dampener recall, and replaced the front axle actuator. Today 10/17 I got the same warning ⚠ flashing on to service locker system a couple of times. It’s going back next week. Hopefully they can find and fix it.

What has been the resolution to this issue? My “service axel locker” warning light came on today for the first time. I used the lockers for the first time last weekend with no problem... nothing extreme, just some mudding up a steep hill. Every time I shifted into a different gear today, the light came on. I also noticed that a couple of times this week I could not get it into 4L when backing it into the garage (don’t ask), I am wondering if the issues are related. I have an appointment in three days to get it checked. Is it safe to drive?

My issue was a faulty wiring harness. The locker actuators themselves were fine, just a bad harness. Don’t think that has been the case with everyone who has had this issue though.

I believe my issue was a wire that was grounding due to its placement or zip tie being to tight during the manufacturing process.

The first time the wiring and connectors were checked. It was determined the front actuator was to blame and was replaced. When the warning light came back the wiring was checked again and I was told there was a fault in the DCU, drive control unit. A new one has been installed and the issue has not returned.

I’ve brought ours into the dealership multiple times over the last year and to two different dealers. Same story every time. “We can’t reproduce the issue and everything seems to be working properly. It happens most when I’m in 4H or 4L but occasionally comes on in 2H. We went to Moab this last weekend and it literally came on every few minutes. Super annoying. Going to try the dealership again and hope for the best.

Does your 4H and 4L work properly? That’s all I am really concerned about right now, heading into winter.

Yes, it seems everything still works properly, including the lockers when locked.
