If there is not oil in the solenoid, could this fix the problem?
Only a suggestion based on other threads showing software glitches. May be worth a try.

It's possible, a lot of people have had multiple different issues fixed by simply disconnecting the battery for an hour or overnight. If there truly is a problem, like oil in the solenoid, the error will remain so their is no risk of masking it.

Alright, battery disconnected. Giving this a try.

Did it work? Good grief man clean that engine! :)
Make sure those ground connections aren't touching on the fender. I usually stick a piece of cardboard between since that wire keeps falling back.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. The warning light didn’t come on right away, but after about 10 minutes of driving it started coming on and off intermittently. Back to the dealer with some print-offs from this forum it goes.

Sounds hopeful for me!! Already have a new axle and drivetrain control unit. Gonna see about checking that solenoid.

I hope the dealer will look at it. According to my dealer they aren't even allowed to open the dofs anymore to look at the internals. That's why they are replacing the whole axles, you can't even buy that solenoid because the axle supersedes it. BUT sometimes you will get lucky and a dealer will think outside the box :)

Hi @Eastcape14
We certainly would like to see this concern addressed by your dealer alongside one of our specialists. Feel free to send our team a private message once you have another dealer appointment scheduled.

Thanks so much Jeep Cares. I brought my JLUR in to the dealer today for the dreaded intermittent

‘service axel locker system’ and agreed to pay $180 for them to check out what they said was a loose wire. The service writer was not interested in any input from Jeep Cares. When I asked the dealership GM if he could help me with a problem I was having with my Jeep he immediately asked me to step into his office. Once he saw my thread here and the response from Jeep Cares he told me that he would take care of this. Ten minutes later a rental car arrived for me, paid for by the dealership.

I hope that between the local Jeep techs and the factory Jeep techs in Michigan they come up with a solution because I love this Jeep. I will keep you informed on the Forum.

So you agreed to pay $180 to have the dealer look at something that is covered under warranty??!! You need to get your money back and ask why the heck they are requiring money up front for warranty issues.

Easy. I haven’t actually paid anything yet. Signing for the tech to take a look was just to get my foot in the door. Now that the GM and Jeep Cares are involved let’s just see how this turns out.

OK, I hear ya. I'm just shocked that they are asking for money up front when there clearly is a warranty issue going on. Hopefully the GM will do you right.
