Even the space shuttle uses high temp textile as heat barrier. Stop calling it a “sock”. I’m as frustrated as anyone with the delay, but obviously FCA is not putting a sock on it and calling it good. Same as the battery is not a couple of AAA’s.

The Army M-151 Jeep had two 12 volt batteries , connected together under the passenger seat , and worked good , all the time .

Now , 50 years later , fca is calling it good , when it is obviously not good .

I doubt that story is accurate, no way that’s the fix that story is from a guy who knows a guy it’s not from FCA
Agree it cannot be accurate , because we don't want a Chicago fire caused by a sock .

Probably nothing. Probably safer than parking next to a new BMW, Audi, Mini, Kia, or pretty much any other car right now that currently has massive recalls for fire issues going on right now. Just Google “car fire recalls” to see what I mean.

Seriously don’t think this is issue is isolated to the turbo. Think 48 volt. Doesn’t matter what engine. Just happened to be it was attached to a turbo. ;$

But what if it is, what if it is and you buy a 2.0 and forever wonder, is this the day it catches fire. No thanks, we all know how trustworthy FCA is, not! Not wishing any bad on anyone, hope all have good luck with their new 2.0.
I won’t be worrying at all

Oh i am not in a million years saying a Turbo caused this, definitely a battery issue.
Actual cause was a lunatic at fca with an insane idea to use lithium batteries in vehicles .

Actually all modern hybrid cars use lithium batteries.
They just have to have the proper wire harness design...
