Finally found wheels! Go eBay lol. Was gonna powdercoat them Bronze to match the 392 accents but I’m liking the black…think I might leave em as is. They’ll match the rock sliders & bumpers perfectly. Still need to drop the bumpers & tire carrier off to get powdercoated.

Waiting on a few more parts to show up before I can start the swap. Noticed that my locker harnesses nor parking brake relocation kit were in the Dynatrac crate. Was also missing my hydro assist skid plate, but not throwing a hydro kit on for a little while. Top Tier Suspension has been great to deal with, they’re shipping all that stuff out to me. Dynatrac already shipped me the replacement cast iron knuckles, I’ll swap those out after the axles go in. Big thanks to @Arrowhead for selling me his unused Apex steering boost kit. Those are unobtanium everywhere. Will definitely need it with the 40s!

Hit Uwharrie this weekend. Wasn’t too busy considering it was opening weekend. Ran all trails the first day, including Daniel (front side to back side), picked up a new Badge of Honor on Dickey Bell. Ran Dickey Bell for a second time today and played on the back side of Daniel with a few Jeeps before rolling home. The 392 did great, got held up on the belly of the Gatekeeper on Daniel…the 40s should fix that

No new body damage so that’s a plus! Daniel is sporty especially in regards to line choice on a few obstacles. Can’t wait to go back and run it on big boy axles and bigger tires.

I definitely miss going up to Uwharie, so I appreciate the nostalgia! Last time was like 10 years ago in my little XJ lol. Can't wait to see this build keep progressing.

Thanks man! Waiting on Dynatrac to quit dragging their feet and send me the last remaining parts…still waiting on them to ship me the locker harnesses, parking brake kit and steering ram skid plate that were supposed to be in the axle crate 😑

Did a quick day trip to Uwharrie with my mom and younger brother. They’re new to rock crawling so I figured I’d show them what it’s like…got there at 11, ran Dutch John, Dickey Bell and Daniel. They had a good time, Blue Waffle got a few new scrapes on the rock sliders and wheels. In hind sight I should have just bought KMC beadlocks from the start but oh well…gonna sell these Icons for a major loss when the time comes to jump to 8 lug axles because they’re beat to hell after only 3 wheeling trips. Still waiting on the rest of my damn axle parts to ship so in the meantime I’m gonna keep wheeling the 37s 🤙 First world problems for sure lol

Well, after patiently waiting for Dynatrac to send me the missing locker harnesses, parking brake cable kit and ram skid plate I ended up just ordering locker harnesses and the parking brake kit from Northridge4x4. So glad they had them in stock! Irritated I had to spend another $450 to get that stuff in a timely manner but I’ll be asking for a refund from Top Tier Suspension for that amount. Really want to get these axles installed ASAP. Need to track down some new TPMS sensors or yank the stock ones out of my current wheels/tires so I can start assembling the beadlocks. Things should start coming together in the next week 😎

Or just run without sensors. Tazer off the alert. Since you offroad your pressure is being checked 100x more than most cars on the road.

Hoping to run into your Jeep at Uwharrie sometime soon!

Little teaser pic…got a LOT left to do before it’s driveable. Need to shorten the Adam’s driveshafts, hook the lockers up, split the front fenders and install the Artec fender liners, re-install the rear fenders (already split and Artec liners installed) and track down some KMC beadlock spacers because Cooper STT Pros have a stupid thick bead. Need to get either Dynatrac or Top Tier Suspension to send me different steering linkages. My axles apparently came with 72.5” steering components even though they’re 68.5” axles, which of course we didn’t realize until we had the front axle installed 🤦‍♂️

There’s been quite a few things I’ve had to track down on these axles to get them installed that should have been in the crate but were not. So far I give this whole experience a 3/5…for the money and the presige behind Dynatrac you’d think attention to detail especially on what’s supposed to ship with the axles would be way better but I guess not. Honestly has me second guessing whether or not I should have just bought Dana UD60s from Northridge4x4. Probably would have gotten all my parts right the first time 🙄

Also had to trim all the wheel studs with a grinder so my 2” lug nuts would tighten up. Miscellaneous but still need to swap bumpers, tire carrier and install the Apex steering boost kit. Big punch list for sure.

At any rate, hope to have it driving in a week or so. I’m at the mercy of waiting on the correct parts to ship 😑 First world problems, but annoying nonetheless.

Can’t wait to see it done and see you on the trials. Let me know when your trial run is going to take place!

I’ll also be ordering direct from Dynatrac based on your experience.

For sure! Hope to get it out in 2-3 weeks parts wait depending. Yeah ordering direct would probably be the best thing to do, I was going to I just didn’t want to wait 4-6 months to get them. Heard some people waited even longer. Had I not had a caster/driveline issue driving me insane I would have been happy waiting.

Rear fenders are split, Artec liners and Falcon SP2 3.3s installed. Going to work on swapping rear bumpers today and tire carriers tomorrow. Had to use a forklift to move my Jeep out of my buddy’s shop, couldn’t get the stock tie rod to work enough to steer it out.

Front Adams 1350 fits and looks like it won’t have to be modified for the longer pinion on the PR60. The rear Adams driveshaft is at my local shop and it’s getting 2” cut out of it. Have 4.5” Metalcloak front springs on order, the updated Apex boost kit with the new cooler design (I’ll be selling my NIB Gen 1 Apex kit soon). Touched base with Top Tier Suspension yesterday, hopefully they have a drag link/tie rod in stock they can ship me this week.

Once I get the rear bumper/tire carrier on I’ll start working on the front fender chop and Artec liner install. Going to be switching washer fluid tanks with a cool mod I found in the diesel build section. Stay tuned!

I might do that once the paint gets all chipped up. Not yanking those fenders off again for a while 🤣 Those fender clips suck
