Got a few more build parts on the way…
~Quake LED Fender Chop Kit
~Paramount Plastic Front Fender Liners (rears are backordered everywhere)
~US Plastics 3qt washer fluid reservoir (stealing an idea from the diesel section here)
~Z Automotive Locker Harness (2)
~CavFab Tire Carrier
~CavFab Crawler Full Width Rear Bumper ~Motobilt Crusher Front Bumper
~Baja Designs LP6 Pro JL Bumper Kit

Still need to track down the Apex Steering Boost Kit, 5 KMC Grenade Crawl beadlocks and the Magnaflow Rock Crawler Exhaust. Torn between sending my steering box to WTO Offroad for their Redneck Ram kit or porting the steering box myself and running a PSC ram. I’ll probably run the 40s initially with just the Apex kit before deciding which hydro assist setup I want to go with. Will be doing the axle swap and other parts installs at a friend’s shop.
I dunno why but putting a 40" tire on the tailgate scares the crap out of me, lol. Should look pretty solid once you're all said and done. JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!

I debated about not running a 40 on the tailgate but I’d hate to have a gnarly sidewall blowout/slice on a trail and not be able to plug it…especially since this thing won’t be a trailer queen. The CavFab seems plenty beefy for a 40 but we shall see!

Yeah, looks good. I went the AEV route so the tire weight is balanced between both, but it's goddamn expensive for sure.

Totally agree, I always carry a spare, even in Moab where it's unlikely you'd ever see anything like that (but it can happen with just one wrong stick lol!)

Well, first part of the puzzle arrived 😵 ‍Axles should be here tomorrow! It’s going to be a few weeks before I can get them swapped out, I’m having a hell of a time finding KMC beadlocks. Once I can locate some wheels things will move fairly quickly. 40s are big 🤣

Soooooo apparently Dynatrac had a recall on the aluminum XD1550 knuckles…which my axles have. These were made in August of ‘19. Guess they’ve been on the shelf at Top Tier Suspension for a while! Already reached out to Dynatrac and they’re going to send me replacement iron knuckles free of charge. I’ll swap em out once the axles go in.

$250 labor check lol. Parts are around $2,000. They’re sending them out along with a labor check…which is going in my pocket because I’m the one swapping them. On the plus side I’ll have a spare set of balljoints!
