Hey guys, I’ve got what might be a dumb question. I’m going to be building an off-road trailer, and I’m going to use a timbren axle-less suspension. The folks from eTrailer recommended this 5x5 hub to fit Jeep wheels:
https://www.etrailer.com/p-84550BX.html

The only issue is that it comes with ½” studs as opposed to 14mm. (JK size, vs JL size according to Quadratec: https://www.quadratec.com/c/reference/wheel-bolt-patterns-typical-lug-nut-torque-specifications) So I know that obviously they would need different lug nuts, but the real question is, will JK and JL wheels mount interchangeably on these two sizes of studs? I assume so, but I need some validation.

My plan is to purchase some used Jeep wheels to go on the trailer, and I want matching sizes and bolt patterns so I only have to carry one spare for either the Jeep or the trailer. So can anyone chime in with some expertise here? Thanks!

I assume your assumptions are correct but I'd get my hands on some M14 studs and press 'em in. You may have to enlarge the holes but shouldn't be an issue.

Order up a straight flute chucking reamer if you really care, but a drill bit oughta get ya close enough.

As they said in school, "I cut it three times and it's still too small".....or in this case you can always drill out more but it's harder to put it back.
