  1. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

100%, but 1st gear is fine. 2nd gear could be maybe 5% shorter but 3-4-5-6 could all be much shorter by 15% which is what a 4.10 will get you about. with Sahara you are stuck with 3.45 which is terrible., no manuals 2024 Sahara... So for those who want ashpalt Jeep manual Sahara are stuck, I...
  2. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I think it boils down to people not being technical and/or passionate about their jobs and just not even knowing the answer.
  3. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Amen brother. Why don't we remain complacent and use typewritters to post on forums. Oh wait that would require evolution. Jeep needs to be evolve a little. The potential is there. The lazyness is also apparent. Ther is very fat margins on the Wrangler.
  4. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

You must be that guy that doesn't notice when a giant fly lands on your forehead. We live in 2023, and the jeep is not sold for cheap. It should be at least made to some standards and too many jeeps are asphalt queens so why not build and gear it right. That being said, I do get the...
  5. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Seems like your info is correct. At least for Canada the recall is only ready for 2023 and 2018 as of now. It is not open to 19/20/20/21/22. It seems like it brings new clutch assembly and a tune. Does anyone know if it's beefier and what the tune does?
  6. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I have been absent from this thread for a wile. But I see the 2023 and 2024 models as being able to build with a manual. I notice 2024 Sahara is only available with 2.0T. I would like to see a Sahara with a manual option and a 4.10 option for the streets. Would be more "racy". Did anything change?
  7. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

It's a shame the manual is terrible. I am new to jeep. I test drove the 2.0T 8 speed auto. The power delivery is smuch better than the 3.45FD 6MT, but I notice the handling of the lighter 6MT 3.6 is a very noticeable improvement.
  8. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Was just officially announced in Canada for those Canucks. They are a bit slower than USA.
  9. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

My 2nd to last car had ESS + MT, 400lbs torque 2.0T Turbo and it took it fine on stock clutch until 80,000 miles and plenty of trips to the drag. But the idea of ESS is dumb. To save 10gallons of gas in 10 years only to have to replace it with parts prematurely that have a bigger ecological...
  10. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Put in a new clutch until they solve problem. I am fully aware it's a short term fix, but a fix nonetless. Within a 300 mile radius there are several dealers that have stock.
  11. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

You should also leave a jerry can in the back for good measures. I am a new jeep owner and it has been not fun. At least I know the regional warranty director and he can approve anything under warranty. Are people not getting covered under warranty? 1) Mirror chassis control module dead on...
  12. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Except the engine bay at highwayspeed is the coolest. Do you have data proving otherwise? I have seen a ton of of bellhousing with no venting, 100% sealed, no cooling fins and they work fine. Respectfully not buying that argument.
  13. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Wondering if the lack of dead pedal is the cause for people resting foot on the clutch down the highway and causing this. I could be wrong, but there is litteraly no load down a highway, well the thing is a brick, so just drag load.
  14. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Well I never trust anyone, and many people do not know how to drive so I can only imagine all the "noise" that can get created. But 100% the clutch does not have enough clamping force either undersized, springs not strong enough, friction material not good enough. Again in 2H, normal driving...
  15. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

If they rock climb fine, then people would not be so fast switching out the clutch for CF, and there should no be recalls. Not sure I believe the pavement princess comment as it defies the laws of physics, unless the short stick makes the data really sweked. I find the clutch perfectly adequate...
  16. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

This is a good comment. I have 4.10. I try to always turn off traction control when I am deep snow, but I will more often time leave it in 4H. Weak clutch, 4H, 4.10, no torque down, low lot's of traction (even in snow) = clutch slip.
  17. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Once the clutch is slipping the damage is done. It's not a fully proactive approach to cut power after slipage, it would be wiser to cut power at all times. I think what djxizodu was saying they cut the power under 2K at all times and the surge you feel at 2K is the removal of the torque cap. It...
  18. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

That is a naive question. What do you think the early recall did to fix the clutch issues?
  19. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Post number #1. I really should have 0 posts because the point of a new stock car is not to post in forums. You would think this would not happen on a very basic underpowered car. Leased this fall of 2022 as a bridge vehicle after having modified/performance cars on tracks and street all my...
