Thanks Jay (and nice to have a name)!
I'm hoping for some backwards compatibility since there's a ton of JK parts already available, but it's also exciting to see all the brand new development for the JL. Can't wait to see what you guys will show us next.
Nice job @TTEChris! We need someone good with photoshop to show us what all kinds of popular mods would look like on the JL. I nominate you... you're welcome :D
Don't they ever have to test these vehicles without the top to see how it behaves? I know there's wind tunnels but you would think they need some real world testing sometimes.
Yea but these pics from the dealer presentation also have a bunch of old JK features. The wheels, tail lights, and if i remember correctly the front didn't match up to the spy pics either. Those spy pics tho, seems like that's a full bodied JLU and not just a JK mule running. They did cover the...
The DRL in fenders is actually a legit concern. They look nice but going to need rewiring just to change out fenders (which im sure most aftermarket ones will retain the feature). Removing the fenders completely of course is going to be more an issue so I'm thinking they probably found some good...
I just saw on some auto blog that the Wrangler Classic was confirmed by a dealer to be coming.
It got me thinking, is there any way the spy photos could be hiding a slightly modified JK as opposed to the JL? It could explain why it looks so similar?
I didn't mean that Jeep should wait even longer to release it. Just wondering why they decided to do it like this instead of releasing it as a separate model year. Seems like it's going to confuse a lot of regular buyers as to why there are major differences in the same model year. Anyway I'm...
The more 4 doors they sell and more owners using it as their daily/commuter, the more likely this is becoming. Without diluting the brand I think it can stand to be slightly more comfortable and road friendly without becoming a luxury cruiser.
So check this out. I think this is the overlap in JK/JL production that everyone is talking about.
Also mentions retooling for the JL begins next March and production starts mid year.
