I feel the Rubicon would be a better fit because of what you want to do with it and the financial aspect. It may hold value better than the Sport with the add ons, resale should be higher, and it will be a Jeep that is engineered for what you plan to do, as delivered..
Do what your gut tells...
Ok guys, I don't know why that old thread about "wife" was fed to me. I will be more diligent on checking the dates before responding. Hell I will just watch for a while unless I post.
There is nothing silly about owning two Jeep Wranglers. The perfect pair for a Jeep nut family would be a 4xe Sahara and a 392 Rubicon XR package.
Let's say one that is happy with the pavement, and one that hungers for rocks & ruts.
Well you are not alone. Disclaimer... there are women out there who know all about Jeep Wrangler mods and tricks. There are badass women drivers out there too, however an uninvolved wife may glaze over when we expound on all the cool and necessary add-ons.

Ha ha ha, thanks, that is a good thing I guess. If you were to ask my wife she would say I am obsessed with cleaning the Jeep.
We get it dirty but really clean it well and back in the nice newer garage that stays above 45° even in the dead of winter. This is my favorite vehicle I have ever...
Definitely NOT. Mine returns perfectly, whereas I hold it loosely, and it slides through my fingers until centered and I grasp it then. I don't know if that made any sense, however short answer is NO, it returns a little crisper than my 2014 GC.
I love that we have a forum where there are many sage owners that can offer help to new Wrangler owners or Wrangler owners without much mechanical knowledge. I learn stuff here all the time.
Yes, I have seen a custom sized cover for the console. Even if I had a dog, I would not let him trash the Jeep. But that's just me. I know some people treat their dogs like spoiled children. 🤔
