I went from a 2019 F-150 FX-4, supercrew, long box, tuned 3.5ecoboost, ran 13 flat on 1/4 mile to my current 2022 JLUR (4 door rubicon, 3.6L v6 with manual 6 speed).
I have pros and cons from going to a truck to the JL
Pros
- Looks nicer, you get the "luxury" look
- The JL feels more engaging...
I have the cloth seats in my JL, love them(183cm tall and 245lbs)
I sat on leather seats and they felt stiffer, not much different but the extra stiffness is there.
Hello all, i’ve been having a tiny rattle that happens at a given rpm, sounds like a tiny metal clip bouncing fast or empty aliminum tubes rattling against eachother. I’ve verified everything that doesnt require dash removal and can’t find it.
Does anyone have the same rattle or the source of...
The bracket that mounts to the frame is painted steel. And yes it will rust over time. Not necessarily quickly but it will.
Have had mine on for 3 months and I also rust-proofed them with some CRC6026 (equivalent to a Fluid film anti-rust can). They obv. do not have rust yet but frequent...
I've secured 3.89% for 96 months on my canadian jeep 45 days ago. 314$ every 2 weeks, makes it a very affordable payment on a loan that i'll probably pay off in 4-5 years, so when powertrain warranty ends, jeep is paid off.
Nice Jeep, I guess it was a limited model run for 2020 in canada only. Be curious to compare two build sheets see if they are identical.
Also canadian rubicon owner here :jk:
@M_Pluto
If this can help you in your decision making, i've had my 6 speed JLU Rubicon(4.10 ratio) for a month and a half(5000km on it) and it is very fun and engaging to drive.
Here's what I noticed right away and what i've learned along the way.
First of all, this manual is not like other...
I've had my 6 spd '22 for almost a month now and I can say the hill start works great.
It'll hold you in place for about 3 seconds when you release the brake in a hill and you don't feel it holding you back when you start to roll forward. I had the same system in my subaru STi and it was very...
While on the subject of swaybars... How reliable is the stock oem swaybar disconnect on a '22 jlur?My jeep has 1500 miles(2 weeks of ownership) and the swaybar disconnect system is already faulty. I get the "Service Swaybar system" icon when trying to activate it, I have to press it many times...
I work as a sales manager for anything with wheels/skis/tracks and I would just list it on facebook marketplace or whatever selling platform is popular near you. Leave the mods that you don't want to keep on it and do jeep value + aftermarket parts value at 50% of the item price not including...
If you plan to run the stock 33 tires(actual 32.2) you will be ok with the 4.10 ratio.
4.88 will make 1st gear useless and every gear is perfectly usable with 4.10 and 33s
I also didn't get any of the safety features, I probably would have got the basic safety package for the blind spot monitor...
2nd day of owning my new jeep, our labrador dog wants to check out the interior(i left the driver side window down) so she gets up on the door, and puts nice scratches on the brand new door once she's taken a look inside... Haven't taken the time to buff it out yet lol
And also learned the hard...
Good write up, i'm on my 8th day of ownership and I can relate to everything you've posted.
Mine also has the voltage jumps, will try to tighten battery posts see if that makes a diff.
Mine is also 6spd and I found the engine happiest (for fuel economy) right at 2k rpm, even sometimes cruising...
This is my 6th manual transmission vehicule and each one of them have been much quieter. The shifter in the JL is a little clunky when going into gear and yes it can be noisy especially from 1st to 2nd. I've driven two different JLs and they are the same. You can really hear the noises from the...
The flares don’t bother me, it’s the damage to the paint and the metal body behind the flare. It’s all dinged up from rocks and there’s even a dent the size of a coin from rocks bouncing off the fender. Do you think a film would protect the body enough?
So I took my 2 days old new JLUR with only 100 km on it to the trails and ended up having fenders looking like this with chips on the paint, on the hinges, and even a dent on the panel. How do y'all deal with this? I ordered Rokblokz regular sized mud flaps but is this a Jeep thing I shouldn't...
I think you're fine, mine did the same noise with 28km on it, now close to 800 still sounds the same.
Not sure if it's the body of the jeep that lets out every noise from the engine or if the 3.6 is a noisy engine but nothing to worry about there.
Finally picked up my jeep yesterday. Took 3 months from order date to get to dealer, three weeks for transport.
Absolutely love it! drives perfectly straight, smooth, wife wants one now.
The wait is worth it and for those waiting for a 6spd, they’re pretty good! 1st is short, 2 to 3 has a...
