No CDJR in my area will go below $2.5K over MSRP and they're not accepting the FCA Affiliates discount. One had a GC Trailhawk with a $7K markup and $5K discount. Looking at GC forums, those things seem to be falling apart. The sales manager had the audacity to say "you can throw in that FCA...
Been shopping around alternatives while I wait for my Rubicon order. ALL dealers except my local Lexus have been horrid, especially CDJRs. Markups galore and hidden fees and add-ons.
Last week I was working on a deal on a Durango, they advertised a great discount on TrueCar and Autotrader...
I'm eager to see the day were dealers are gone for good and manufacturers sell directly to consumer. Have discounts and promos, and stop with al the damn haggling. It's so much more exhausting replacing my car than replacing my computer, or TV, and I don't see any reason why that should be.
Agree, but:
the only NA engine is the 392, with a starting msrp of $80K... the 2.0 has turbos, the v6 is a MHEV, and the 4xe is the most complex of the bunch.
the seats are pretty basic, which is fine for off-roading and being able to hose them, but I'm sure more than one chose the new Bronco...
I really think Jeep should create two models out of the Wrangler:
One to compete with the Defender/Bronco with better seats, infotainment, ride on paved roads, more efficient hybrid/full electric powertrains etc. the luxury off-roader. Seen a lot of people complaining about all of those aspects...
You really need to be sure about your purchase. I loved the Rubi 4xe I drove back in April and ordered one right away. Last update was that it was scheduled on 6/17. I'm looking at a 2022 Lexus GX 460 at a great price, a 4Runner TRD Pro that is ok, a Timberline at a great price, but I f'n hate...
I meant that I don't see the point of having a mild hybrid electric (3.6 e-torque) when you could go all in with the 4xe and get more power and better fuel economy. I would think the pro pentastar guys would choose this option because it's less complex and potentially "bulletproof", but when you...
I don't get the point of a MHEV when there's the PHEV 4xe. At that point the only drawback for going full hybrid is the limit of 4xe trims and the tbd reliability of the 2.0 vs the old 3.6
Same torque as the 392 with 30%+ horsepower than the V6 at 20 mpg. And for people that can plug in daily weeks without going to the pump. I'd say it's worth it.
Basic supply and demand. In any other situation if there's a car available for ten people seeking to buy, the highest bidder would get it. Even with the problems with supply chains and labor, you still have two options right now: shop around and buy from inventory or order and wait. You decide...
Yeah, there are people that say it's borderline unusable and others that swear by their mommas it's as good as the off road camera. Just curious how a brand new one comes out.
Let me know how's your rearview camera. I have the option to buy the exact same car with front and no front and want to make sure it isn't true the rear looks like cow dung when having both.
Interesting that at least a few of the issues I've heard seem to be assembly problems. Where TF are Wranglers built and why is Stellantis still building them there?
I wonder if it's because it seems most of the shortages are for higher end parts. Maybe the Wrangler uses cheap components that aren't as affected by shortages.
