  1. North Carolina Roll Call

Agreed...everytime I saw a truck like that I kept thinking to myself, maybe they ran out of money and could only afford half a lift, the other half was still on layaway or something :D
  2. North Carolina Roll Call

Could have done the front first and send pics back showing that the Carolina Squat will never die (even when it should)...also this is in jest, I feel like a little bit of me dies everytime I see a truck setup with that squat (though it's been fewer over the years than it used to be) :D
  3. North Carolina Roll Call

Now I just have to touch your jeep the next time I see it...assuming I know who you are in real life LOL :P
  4. North Carolina Roll Call

Hydro Blue, good color choice :)
  5. North Carolina Roll Call

was it dropped off by tow truck or did it get delivered under its own power? :)
  6. North Carolina Roll Call

I hypothesize it's due to the Triangle / East coast having a heavy influx of Northern Transplants of the urban variety (I also a transplant from the North but come from better stock) :D
  7. Have you seen the Bestop Halftop for the JL?!!

I've been thinking the same thing and my only concern would be where the back tonneau cover and back window attach. The extruded aluminum bar that goes across that part looks like it would not work with the DS as the DS sits flush with the tub sides and goes up against the back seats. The...
  8. Insist on synthetic oil?

I was the same and have switched back to doing my own oil changes with the Jeep. Previously it was due to laziness as well as lack of tools (jack / stands) as the vehicles were lower to the ground than the Jeep is. For me it's mostly cathartic, except for the stupid oil filter location on the...
  9. North Carolina Roll Call

Hrmmm...4.56 might be what I should be shooting for if I want to run 37's and a 3.5" lift (eventually..as in a year or so) very tempting
  10. North Carolina Roll Call

My saturday is open currently, so count me in.
  11. Oil Change...

I have that on my list :) My drips at this last oil change were all from my oil filter removal technique :D It left a lot for improvement.
  12. Oil Change...

After I finished my first oil change and the clean up...I was thinking along these lines as well. The next hurdle will be remembering this info at the next oil change :D This first one was just at 5K, next will either be at 10K or 15K (haven't decided). 10K will definitely be the tire...
  13. Oil Change...

While I have no issues with the drain plug (super easy to get to) does anyone have any tips / tricks on the oil filter removal that doesn't drip oil all over? I have a few thoughts on the next time I do this, but a few things I learned were: 1. removing the engine cover and air intake helped...
  14. Artec DEF skid and belly pan install notes

Just how much more HP are you getting per sticker is my question Can't wait to hear how they do.
  15. Summary of Available EcoDiesel Skid Plates

I have the Asfir skids on my list and would be interested to know how they do. Though Artec is also up there and if price wasn't a concern, Next Venture :)
  16. Why does the Ecodiesel section have the most messages?

I would be an outlier then. This is my first Jeep, First Diesel, second 4x4 Loving it and will keep it as long as possible
  17. Keeping the rear end from sliding

I used to throw some kitty litter in the back of my truck when I was younger. Good for weight in the rear and it'll do in a pinch for helping get some traction if you do get in an icy rut. Also good for sopping up oil if you miss the drain pan when changing your oil :D
  18. Keeping the rear end from sliding

What this guy said. If you can't go studs or don't want to, stay fully inflated or a bit over. Cut through snow, not float over it.
  19. North Carolina Roll Call

Got it, ordering parts no problem I hope I don't need any warranty work as that seems to be the only time I'd take the jeep in at this point. Though that's typically how I usually treat my vehicles, if I'm not able to do the work, finding a reputable shop to do it and that typically is a...
  20. North Carolina Roll Call

LOL...good to know :) Not like I need much of an excuse to buy some new tools (my current set would probably work, but still, can't hurt to have more)
