Get the size that fits your vehicle. I bought an Iceco VL45Pro, but it is too long to fit on the driver's side in the back of my JLUR so it's against the subwoofer. I would have preferred something a little shorter in hindsight. Now it uses up more space than I would like.
Bigger is always...
One thing to think about, your insurance company may not offer full coverage on a salvaged vehicle. That may be an important factor to consider before buying it back.
If you're going to wheel it the XR wheels won't stay nice long. Mine were scratch free for about the first trail. I have installed bead lock rings from Traction Offroad on my XR wheels. I would have been better off buying a more purpose-built set of rims. the Icons and Method wheels are both...
XR package for me. The only thing in the package I'm satisfied with are the heavy duty outer C's. Suspension, wheels and tires, and gears are at best compromises or unusable. I am using the wheels as beadlock wheels thanks to Traction off Road but would prefer a better set designed to be a real...
If something happened to mine tomorrow, I would replace it in a heartbeat. Down the road, can't say. They seem to continue to make the Wrangler more intelligent, i.e., electronics. They may become too sophisticated, and I'll start looking for less complicated used Jeeps. My Scrambler though...
I would suggest a little more lift to help keep your belly off the rocks when on trails. I have the COR 2.5” lift and wish I had gone to 3.5” after running trails with it.
The way a lot of people say the factory warranty is voided I would not buy their extended warranty. I purchased an extended warranty from the dealer that is used locally that I have more faith in. Cost was about the same and the coverage was about the same. It kind of depends on your dealer.
I have found with my limited seat time on trails with my JL that at speeds over 5mph keeping the sway bar connected lessens the sway. I guess it is a shock issue though. Unless I am on a trail that needs the ability to flex the sway bar stays connected. I don't have this issue with my trail...
If you’re gonna get skids, make ‘em steel. MORE skids for me, steel and powder coated black. Would probably had gotten Rusty’s but they were out of stock. Can I suggest real diff covers. RuffStuff for me, thickest steel covers I could find. Good luck with your choice.
She was delivered to me in April of 22. The plan was to get bumpers and a winch on it for my trip to Colorado. Had a Rusty's stubby rear and LOD signature stubby installed up front. Also had a Zeon 10S installed at that time. Realized afterwards that the suspension wasn't up to the task of...
Getting the Mopar bead lock rings is next to impossible. They have been out of stock since late 2021. Unless they just released them, they aren't available. I bought a set of TOR rings, and they are worth it to me.
The purpose of the FAD is to keep the driveshaft from spinning in 2WD. The axles are always turning, the gears in the carrier are turning constantly also. The inner split axle is actually spinning opposite direction of the other axles. All this to keep the front driveshaft and ring and pinion...
The Haltecs push onto the valve stem easily but are difficult to remove. I was concerned that I would break a valve stem taking them on and off. So I switched to clip-ons. Bought them on Amazon. I would do the same to the Kraken hoses. Keep the Haltecs in case you get different rims. I wouldn’t...
The LCA's most likely aren't the cause of the wobble unless they are loose. Being installed backwards will probably cause rubbing issues at flex and or turned to lock. I would look for something loose, could even be ball joints. Good luck.
