I had the JP5-HDSS installed this morning. I know it's not broken in, but initial impressions are that this clutch is excellent. It transforms the way my jeep drives. It eliminates the low rpm herky-jerky lunging of the old clutch. The clutch effort is higher than stock, but not at all...
So your theory is that the vague feedback is causing drivers to prematurely wear the clutch, and beyond the feedback, there is nothing inherently wrong with it?
That would be a ton of abuse for it to fail in 3k miles. I'd like to think I'm not THAT crappy of a driver.
I don’t disagree with comments of the vague feedback, but my burning clutch has 3k miles and is my 4th manual vehicle. The problem is larger than irresponsible or incompetent driving.
@Actman it looks like the JP5-HDSS kit would fit the bill for me, I don’t need the toque capability of the JP6 kit. Is there a difference in pedal effort between the two? I assume the JP5 would be a bit lighter?
Also, I know this is a long shot, but do you have any trusted shops in the Houston...
I wish I could buy an after market clutch and just have this recall cover the install cost.
I actually took my jeep with 3k miles into the dealer just after new years because of burning clutch smell. Surprise, surprise, they couldn’t replicate the smell so they did nothing. And that smell was...
You can option the half doors with proximity. And if you select proximity that automatically makes the full doors you get also optioned with proximity and power windows and locks. That’s what I did on my 2021 sport.
Like many, I put takeoff rubicon wheels / ko2’s on my sport. But I am probably one of the few that used springs and shocks from a 2-door rubicon with a hard top. It made my 2-door soft top sport sit perfect (in my eyes), just like a stock rubicon. You can probably get 2-door takeoffs for a six...
Anybody in the Houston area interested in free shocks/ coils / front bumper with halogen fog lights? I am trying to make space in my garage. Parts are from a 2021 2-door sport.
I just bought a small DK2 storage trailer to use for camping and random hauling needs. Home Depot is having a black Friday sale. I was originally looking at the folding Harbor Freight trailers but these seem like a better overall value proposition...
