I keep my phone in there and I've never had an issue with it falling out even though it does stick out a little. iPhone 13 for reference.

The majority of the issue is with the iPhone 13. The only work around that I am aware of is wireless carplay or use the USB from the dash. I've never had issues since I've had my 13 pro plugged into the dash. I hate the visual with the wires but at least it works.

Do you air down your tires?

I installed mine this past weekend. The install was very easy, did it by myself probably took 20 minutes. Agree with someone else who said the hardest part are the z clips. I used the video below for install instructions.

I have the same issue, there are other threads about this. I eventually gave up and started using the USB C port in the media center / dash. Hate the way it looks but couldn't deal with the phone constantly disconnecting from the center console, frustrating.
