I've had mine at 27psi cold for over a year now. Not bothering to air down on trails nor up on highways. Although for long distance drives I tend to trailer it.
I do most of my 4-wheeling in the deserts of AZ and Baja. Never ever have a steering issue there.
I think it's just lack of airflow. Much less cooling at elevation.
Yes I’m up in Colorado now. I still get the overheated steering fluid dash warning but I did NOT loose steering boost this time. I’ll call it a win.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the stock transfer case is fine with the torque of the 392 and the torque converter multiplier. So far have never needed a lower gear. I do have the XR oem 4.56
Did the upgrade but have not been back to Colorado, no high trails in AZ or Baja.
We plan to get the Jeep back to high country in August. And yes there are trails up to 13,000ft in Colorado.
If a rock scrapes a Torx head it can be darn hard to get the wrench into it. I'd vote for hex head.
I cancelled my order for the Mopar rings and want a set of these. I can buy without hardware.
The part number for genuine mopar real beadlock rings is P5160154.
I ordered 5 on April 11, 2022 and it they are still showing as backordered 8 months later.
This is for a 392 XR but I think the rings are the same regardless if it's special 392 XR wheel or not.
Anyone been able to buy bedlock...
I ordered beadlock rings from Jeep in January and they still have not contacted me about shipment. They took payment and said they were on backorder in January. Anyone had success getting these? BTW they are for a 392 XR.
A 392 with XR will fit 37's with no mods. The XR 392 already has wheels with backspace to clear 37's so no spacers nor suspension mods are needed. That said, the factory XR 392 lift only has about 1" of suspension up travel, pretty unacceptable. A 3.5" lift will raise the stock 392 XR 1.5"...
IMO the most valuable item you get with the 392 XR has not even been mentioned. Wheels.
Special wheels with less backspace so you can run 35's or 37's on OEM wheels without wheel spacers even with lifts that say you must have low backspace wheels. 37's bolt right on and do not rub with a...
That's a possibility, I'll be digging into this after our vacation. However I only have problems after long periods at very slow speeds where I would think airflow is minimal already.
Mine is stuck too but seems to be stuck in the loud position. Got stuck with about 700 miles on it. 1600 miles now. Will have dealer look into it whenever I get the Jeep to the dealer. 2021 392 XR.
2021 392 XR with 1600 miles. Both times I've been above 12,000 feet I've gotten a Power Steering Overheated message and loss of PS boost at idle. I have no idea if this is elevation related or just that I'd been in low range up 30-45 min of switchbacks to get to that elevation (so low speeds...
So far it did not seem much different, I was happy that it does not feel tippy on the road, however all the roads I've been on so far are good smooth roads.
