I see a lot of pics here of the Overland + 2.5 kit on Jeeps that aren't loaded with any overlanding gear. Anyone have a picture of their loaded rig with the 2.5" lift? I'm pushing 600lbs of gear when loaded and would like to see how a JLUR Rubicon sits with this kit and that kind of weight.
I was thinking this would be nice for overlanding and leveling the roof top tent. However, after seeing the size of the air bottles and the amount of real estate they consume, it's a hard pass. Just too much space taken up.
Glad to help. It drove me nuts the first trip. Had to disconnect the battery every leg of our 2.5 month trip. Started diagnosing the issue when we got back. I'm happy that people are helped by this and this is the true beauty of forums and communities like this.
I've been helped on...
@Jeepeto Had my wife make a pad with velcro straps to cushion the cameras. Works well. No bouncing or vibration. Just enough pressure to keep everything tight.
Overall the beetle clip is really nice. It doesn't require tools to clamp to a bag or belt. It has a clamping system. I like it better than the PDs for that reason. However, it still rattles a little. Less than PD but still rattles. Main issue though is that the beetle is larger and...
Installed the MPS panel. Like it a lot. I have some PD capture clips and gave them a try. You're right, they rattle. I ordered a PGYTech Beetle clip. Same concept as the PD clips but look like they have a solid non-rattle connection. They also make gopro mounts that clip into the Beetle...
Luckily, my after factory headlights have the daytime running light ring and they stay on if the button is set to ACC. When I go to tow, if I see the ring light on in the RV backward camera, I know I left the ACC on.
Just got done driving 980 miles over a 32 hour period and zero issues with Jeep battery.
Also, I did find that I get the light out message on the Jeep but it doesn't pop up on the display ever. I have to manually scroll through to the "messages" screen where I see a message saying I have a...
I have aftermarket front LED turn signals and markers but those aren't wired into the tow harness.
I do have a TAZR but the setting for the lights are default for a Rubicon. The rear brake lights are factory LED. The only thing I have reprogrammed with the TAZR is the being able to use the...
No, just the brakes. Next time I'm hooked to the RV I'll look at the signals and parking light behavior to see if that's needed.
I don't think for the rears anything needs to be done though. Looking at the wiring diagram you posted, there's only a single fault-sense for the each rear light...
Yeah, I'm just hoping it doesn't constantly tell me I have a tail light out. I suspect though if it does, it's going to be the "health reports" that I get from Uconnect which are easy to ignore. Hopefully it won't be something on the dash.
So do you know if the fault-sense wire carries a signal indicating successful illumination or does it send a signal indicating failed illumination?
It seems like it must be a success signal but when I remove those pins, I don't get any errors or messages from the Jeep indicating the tail light...
I don't think it's staying awake. It's just that it is constantly being woken. Turn signals also cause it to wake up. It takes my Rubicon 5 minutes to go into full sleep (measure with an amp draw on the battery). It actually goes through a couple stages of shutdown before fulling going to...
