  2. 4xe real mpg, tank range?

Wish I saw this sooner, Thanks for the offer though!
  3. 4xe real mpg, tank range?

I drive 450 miles per week. I charge once at home and once at work. charging at work costs me zip. This is my initial break down. 900 miles per tank, so I am filling up once every 2 weeks. For the month, premium fuel costs me $130 for 2 fill ups. Which is around 14.5 gallons of gas. costs me...
  4. Cold climate = no go

Area man announces he is not buying 4xe.
  5. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

Completely understand where you are coming from. It could be wonky at times when the engine fires up, but I get enough power in hybrid modes to do what I need it to do. As far as the sport mode, isn't that what the manual shifter kind of achieves?
  6. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

Ya that is what it does, but I do not see how it is more efficient running that way. The OP mentions .24c per k/w and that being more expensive then gas. Not everyone pays that per kw and it is just running the ICE more on a commute. If we are talking about benefits, you are not getting more...
  7. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

So I tried it today and I kind of did the same thing as you and my trip info screen read 22.6 electric and 23.3 ICE. I don't really have a negative or a positive opinion of it, its ok. I'm going on a couple trips next month, I think this would be good for that. I almost got 1000 miles on my...
  8. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

This is what I am typically getting on my morning commute. Not really traffic, but congestion where it would be rare to go above 55mph. I am averaging around 37mpg on a 85 mile commute. Morning commutes are mostly down hill, while on my way home is mostly up hill and I am still pulling almost...
  9. Just buy the 4XE. Please do!

I am very happy with my purchase as well. It does exactly what I expected it to do while saving a little money at the pump. Seems like the battery lasts longer after each recharge and averaging 28 miles on electric is a great bonus. I just have to figure out the lighting situation, I live in...
  10. No longer generating energy while coasting

It does not work for me either, but I made a couple more observations while driving in different modes. After a full charge, I put it in esave mode for my first 15 miles of my commute. The first 3-4 miles the engine did not turn on and it was still draining battery. I thought that was weird...
  11. No longer generating energy while coasting

I am not seeing the regens either, its not really cold out here. In the mornings, maybe like mid 50s, on my way back home mid 60s. I was talking to the CDJR foreman at work and he was like, you can tell its regenerating when the power flow screen turns blue, I think he is confusing it with the...
  12. No longer generating energy while coasting

Very interesting, I can't stand cruise control on my daily commute, so if it means that is the only way It would be able to charge then I can live with it not charging. My commute is too choppy and cruise control is pretty useless.
  13. No longer generating energy while coasting

That is awesome dude, If I can pull that off I can probably have a larger chunk of my 40 mile commute in electric. Is your Jeep in hybrid mode when that happens or electric mode?
  14. No longer generating energy while coasting

So on my ride home, I switched off max regen and it was pretty much the same, 27 miles electric and 16 ICE. So there is this one part of my drive where I have to go up a ramp to get to the freeway and then going on to the freeway its just straight down for like a mile. At that point I was at...
  15. No longer generating energy while coasting

I have only driven with Max Regen with it off in spurts, going to try my whole ride home without it on and see if that changes anything.
  16. No longer generating energy while coasting

I can't find any bulletins, just a bunch of max regen procedures if the circuit is open on the switch, but that would throw a code. I am just going to assume its doing something, I just can't see it on the dash. I called in tech support and it was comical, he sent me a link to instrument...
  17. No longer generating energy while coasting

Ya, that is what I have been doing, a tech and I have been going through the FCA service library to see if there was any similar complaints in the country, nothing so far. I did notice this morning while I was driving in, it would take longer for the battery to drain. I think I almost got 30...
  18. No longer generating energy while coasting

The battery was like at 3% and it went down to 1% when I got to the bottom of the hill. I always keep Max regen on, but I do not get how do you coast on a hill with max regen on, the vehicle wants to stop when you take your foot off the gas. It kind of works the same as the turbo brake in my...
  19. No longer generating energy while coasting

I just picked up mine this past Saturday and this perplexed me as well. I go through a mountain pass on my way home from work and I go down a pretty steep hill that is just over a mile. It did not generate anything, it actually lost range at a faster rate. I was still about to squeeze out 25...
