  1. Back Again Possibly… M3 to Rubicon 392?

So the one I test drove was a 2021 with 16k miles. I let the engine warm up for about 2-3mins before driving it. The dealer guy was with me and talking the whole time which was kind of annoying. He encouraged me to drive it hard, I feel like I did. The pedal response didn’t seem great and it...
  2. Back Again Possibly… M3 to Rubicon 392?

Finally test drove one today. It made me want my JLU Sport back… but did not make me want the 392. Very odd. Back to the drawing board I guess.
  3. Why Not to Get Sky One Touch Roof?

What are the biggest disadvantages of the Sky One Touch roof? Anyone get it and regret it? How long should one of these last if parked outside? Has anyone had to have theirs replaced?
  4. Back Again Possibly… M3 to Rubicon 392?

The M3 is so so composed and it just knifes through curves like nothing. I can’t push it near 30% of what the car is capable of in twisties or any public road without being at least 2x speed limit.. and I can’t see far enough ahead through twisting roads to feel safe at certain speeds (that a...
  5. Back Again Possibly… M3 to Rubicon 392?

Yea, without being on the track, really pushing the M3, then it’s just a very luxurious/tight/refined/fast sport sedan. I feel like I’m not driving it enough and not using it for what it’s meant for so it just feels kind of like a waste right now and I should swap into a third vehicle that can...
  6. Back Again Possibly… M3 to Rubicon 392?

Well it’s been two years since I traded my JLU Sport S for a Ford Explorer (felt we needed a 3 Row SUV as primary vehicle). Since then I have been through a couple sports cars as my “fun” 3rd vehicle and I realized now with very young kids, sports cars don’t make much sense / aren’t driven...

  8. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Yup, that’s what they did too. Photos were from when they did the trade in appraisal.
  9. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Wow, the dealer where I traded in has it re-listed for $6,500 over what they paid me and over the sticker price. What a crazy market!! Is a lightly used JLU Sport S (non-Sahara or Rubi) really worth $48K...
  10. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

She loves it and I actually like it more than I thought I would!
  11. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Good point. And yes, I would rather have the Porsche than a Jeep if it’s just going to be a fair weather weekend car for me. I would love to have both though!
  12. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Ha! I’m getting the front seat replaced under warranty already. The bolster has a couple extra wrinkles in it where as the other side is nice and tight. They said it looks like the stitching isn’t quite right and ordered me a new seat :)
  13. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Ha. I run my house. Decision was ultimately mine. I’ve also owned 20 vehicles in the last 20yrs. Owning a Jeep for 6 months was a little shorter than usual, but I tend to switch things up very often.
  14. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

If I was going to do track days and had an income of about $50K more a year I would probably go for the GTS, ha.
  15. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Yea the Atlas is really really good value for what the size and options in that SE Tech trim level.
  16. Bittersweet Day: Traded in my JLU for a Ford..

Nice catch… yea he has a 10yr+ old Jeep. He loves that thing! Retired military with adult children. Super cool guy. I might still do the Jeep wave with him.
