Hi - here are a couple pictures from a trip to Minnesota's Iron Range Off-Road Recreation Area northwest of Duluth. This park is run by the Department of Natural Resources in an old iron mine. Trails range from mild to wild. For more information please visit...
I haven't re-calibrated my speedometer and likely won't. I suppose I could use the speedometer app on my phone to see how the changes have affected things.
BTW, did you know that with the Sport S Altitude package you get Rubicon brakes? Check you spec sheet - look for BR6 HD brakes. It's a...
I think we could have made it up there stock, but the upgraded Rubicon wheels and suspension surely made it a smoother and more enjoyable ride. We still had to pick the right line - especially from the top down to Ouray. That's where the most challenging areas were. This said, we did just fine...
I did swap out stock Sport S road tires (31 inch) for a set of Gladiator Rubicon Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws (33 inch). Very, very happy with the Falken Wildpeaks. They're snow rated and are excellent for the snow and ice here in Minnesota. They also performed well out west this summer. We made up to...
I read a number of posts about putting Rubicon suspension onto a Sport and it was clear that adding the longer control arms was strongly advised. It helps with the caster. I'm not a mechanic, so I won't even attempt to say why/how longer LCAs help. I do know that our Sport S with Rubicon...
My experience is that Rubicon springs are longer (taller?) than the Sport S. A Gladiator thread seems to confirm this - does same logic apply to Wranglers? See https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/confirmed-rubicon-front-springs-340-343-are-1-taller-than-sport-s-max-tow.44694/...
I don't have my Sport S Altitude springs and shocks anymore - tossed them when I had the Rubicon suspension installed - so I can't even go out to the garage to look. And here I thought I really thought of everything as I captured and reported info. Shoot. I'll do better next time :).
We love our 2021 Sport Altitude with Rubicon take off suspension and Gladiator Rubicon take off wheels. It's perfect for city driving, fire roads in northern Minnesota, and moderate trails out west.
Hi - I had the same sound. In my case it was under torqued castle nuts from the factory on the front ball joints. I think there might be a TSB on this issue. Check with your dealership. Pretty common issue
google -...
I don't know if this is helpful, but we went with Gladiator Rubicon Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws take offs, JL Rubicon take off suspension (springs and shocks), Mopar longer lower control arms, and 1/2 inch spacer in front on our 2021 Sport Altitude. We're loving our new set up. Wildpeak AT3Ws are...
Good question. When looking at the chart in this thread, you do have an unique combo of springs. The 2.0 is lighter than my 3.6. We both have auto and tow group. You have soft top, I have hard top. Do you have steel bumpers? I ended up installing 61 and 62 front springs and 90 and 91 rear...
Yeah, really like how they look on our Wrangler. The stock Sport Altitude wheels just didn't do it for me. I lucked out and found them locally with nearly zero miles. I really like your Willys wheels - deep black, great design, and good looking M/T tire.
Sorry, can't help you with info on track bars. There is so much info in this forum that I recommend doing some searches. I'll bet you find what you're looking for. Or start a new thread and see what folks share.
Too me, and I'm pretty new to this Jeep world, spacers are for counteracting...
Good question on whether or Wrangler needed a spacer or not. Our Jeep had a rake to the front from the factory and I didn't like how it looked. I also read that if I add a winch or steels bumper the front would drop.
I read about the need for a spacer to remove the rake and counteract winch and...
I wish you luck in finding what you're looking for. Facebook Marketplace and this forum are great resources. Send a pic when you complete your project.
Well said and exactly why I went this route. Much improved shocks, springs that gave me some lift, and much better looking stance. Works perfectly for us.
blnewt - your awesome post served as a base of knowledge about adding Rubicon suspension to my Sport. Thanks for all you put into your post. Much appreciated!
