Just wanted to make a post here in this thread after 1.5+ years of ownership of a yellow Wrangler.
I'm not one to care too terribly much what others think anymore, but I haven't gotten a single "unsolicited" compliment on it. (My Dad surprisingly liked it. A neighbor commented positively...
He should print his original post documenting the whole debacle, send that to them, and also email it to every individual email address at that dealership that he can find.
June 2021. It wasn't quite 3% below invoice. I think it was 1 or 2%.
3% below invoice in Lake Charles is pretty good! You could drive out there with somebody, and one drive the other car and you drive the Jeep back. All done within a day.
In Houston, try Southfork CDJR. They are on the south side near Pearland. At the time we were buying, they were offering a very good deal, almost good enough to skip flying out to Gupton and the extra expenses involved in taking delivery in another state. We dealt with a manager there...
I attempted this 3rd top removal technique. I almost gave up. I could lift it into the air while seated in the cargo area, but my goodness it felt heavy. After about 15-30 minutes of contemplation, I went for it, and was able to lift and hold it, move it over to some chairs I had set up, and...
How was the Land Rover ownership experience? We considered the brand a little, but not too seriously. After owning other cars that cost an arm and a leg to repair, we figured Land Rovers would be of that same ilk. And of course heavy depreciation if you buy new or slightly used. And new they...
I have to admit....our BMWs got way way more compliments. Haven't gotten but 2 on the Jeep, and one was from my 73 year old Dad who surprisingly likes it a lot! My mom didn't even have much to say about it.
The reason is because people love status. Or they hate yellow cars! But seriously...
One of my reasons also. Houston flooding is becoming more and more common. I've had a number of days in the past few years when I left the house and didn't know if I'd have to drive on flooded streets to get to work or get back home.
Sometime in the near future, I'm going to attempt this technique. I'll know pretty quick if I can hold it in the partial overhead press position to get it off and to the ground.
(skip to 1:30 in the video)
That's pretty darn cool!! I like how you can store it and take it with you.
I think I'll just work on getting my overhead press strength up. Yep, in about 4 years, I should finally be able to take the 3rd top off. Looking forward to it.
