  1. Disposal of Fuel/Water from Fuel Fliter Change? 🤔

Here is what I do, learned from my years of private piloting. Using a Gats Jar is a great way to separate the fuel from the water, and if you did have some water you can avoid pouring it back into the tank. Best part is it is exactly the right size to drain the filter. As for the remaining fuel...
  2. Death wobble under warranty, what're my options?

I had the same issue around 30-40k, I cannot remember exactly. It would only happen when I was at highway speeds, 75ish, and would hit a bridge transition. Wheel would shake for a bit, uncontrollable until I slowed down. It wasn’t dangerous in my mind but I was concerned that it was going to...
  3. Loan Payoff Title Question

In KS the DMV holds the title. When the lien is satisfied I have to go online to the KS Department of Revenue and submit my lien release. That initiates the title being sent to me. If I sell the vehicle privately I need the title, if I was to trade it in the dealer will get it themselves.
  4. Jeep SWAT disabled my new Willys

Step one on any new vehicle, including my Jeep, was to remove all dealer tagging. My dealer likes to put stickers that go across the entire back window, I cringe every time I see someone driving who has not removed it. Nothing like free rolling advertising like you said. On my last purchase I...
  5. My JL Rubicon in the shop again!

Maybe this helps, maybe not. I have a 21 Diesel, bought new May 2021. My start stop worked for about 2 weeks and then nothing but issues, I didn’t really care because I never used it anyway, it was just fun to check and see the ESS not ready message. Because it was never reliable I removed...
  6. Boost Gauge for Turbo?

Once it gets under 500 I consider it good.
  7. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

New front end/self recovery. Not a huge task but pretty uncomfortable since it was 108 in KS today. Garage and multiple fans.
  8. Is this why, or is this not normal?

Maybe a little different since I have a diesel but mine melted and rubbed against my tire on a trip home to KS from CO towing a 3000 lb travel trailer. I took it to the dealer because I was a bit worried and he told me that was an issue with the 392 and diesel because of the heat off the...
  9. Does your Bestop Sunrider have a liner?

I will tag onto this post with something I just found out, a couple days of driving and it seems to have solved the issue. A side note I also have a bug deflector that I think may disturb the air enough over the windshield to amplify this issue. I had a Sunrider on my JK and it was so tight...
  10. Contain Oil From Oil Filter Change?

This is the way. Open the drain bolt, take off the fill cap, loosen the filter, go mow the yard, drink a beer, etc. Then come back and finish the oil change. Little to no mess.
  11. Hot Shots EDT leaky bottle solution

Same, ziploc baggies for the funnel and container. I also dump 1/2 bottle of Hot Shots Extreme to a full tank every oil change, no clue if it does anything but in my mind it does.
  12. DEF gauge slow to rise

Just my thought, I have a Banks iDash and have DEF monitored on it. When driving the DEF amount on the iDash bounces all over the place but the gauge on the cluster stays still, it has to be delayed reporting somehow, not a bad float or sensor.
  13. Fluids Leak. Can't Decide What It Is...

Same happened to me. I let the dealer do a Wave oil change, got home and was terrified because of all the oil on the ground the next morning. Climbed underneath and saw what a mess they made. 2nd oil change I did, zero mess, no further issues. The dealer can keep my other 2 “free” changes...
  14. Release Date for HERE (8.4" Uconnect screen) NAV Map Update

Next time you are deep off-road, no cell service, hit up the factory NAV. My last trip was on some really old forest service roads between Pagosa Springs and Chama, I had saved the map onX Off-road but for some reason it wasn’t loading properly, it was a one way forest service road so no reason...
  15. Start/Stop opinion?

Diesel also, I wasted a year of my life pushing that dang button until I stumbled across this in the forum and then wondered why I didn’t spend $100 much, much sooner...
  16. Do I really need a ScanGauge?

I don’t have the Derringer, I’m not really interested in that. My MPG is steady just over 26, I run the Pedal Monster on City 6 or 7 (I cannot remember). However I do a lot of highway driving and my Rubicon is stock except for the Pedal Monster which is how I will leave it until it isn’t a...
  17. Do I really need a ScanGauge?

Here is my 2 cents, sorry for the long reply. I was on the fence about ScanGuage or iDash and I was really on the fence about PedalMonster. I had read a lot about soot load, turbo temp, DPF temp, etc and the only way to see these items are with an aftermarket monitor. I was interested in...
  18. Roof rack / cross bars / kayak

This is how my wife and I take 2 kayaks, when my kids come and we need 4 we take the flat trailer. It also mounts nicely behind our travel trailer on the bumper. I have hauled the kayaks on the roof of our Subaru Ascent and much prefer the hit mounted option. Not inexpensive but worth it...
