So apparently people have started seeing success by using a USBA -> USBC type adapter inside the center armrest and it works to fix the problems. I have confirmed that it works for me on several short trips, though nothing longer than 30 minutes or so at this point. Prior to using the adapter...
Nope. Just take it to the dealer and they will fix it under warranty. Mine actually arrived like that from the factory and had to be swapped out immediately.

How did you get the carpet clips apart? I'm trying to do exactly what you did with them, but I can't figure out how to get the front and back of the carpet clip apart without breaking them.
