  1. New 2021 Rubicon Unlimited went absolutely crazy..

SMH at the absurdity of Jeep getting such minor things wrong on a regular basis. If the new Bronco is a success, will that finally force Jeep to get their act together?
  2. Anyone else excited for Monday - Wrangler production resuming

I don't remember where I read it here. The closure was last week, and supposedly just for routine maintenance and/or to give the employees a break.
  3. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

The list of case documents doesn't show the judge granted class action status. And he wouldn't if the plaintiff and legal team didn't prove that enough people were affected to merit a class action. My guess is the case was quietly withdrawn and the plaintiff got nothing. But if you want to...
  4. Anyone else excited for Monday - Wrangler production resuming

It doesn't make any sense, like a lot of these choices Jeep forces customers to make!
  5. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I did. It is "Nelson v. Ford Motor Co." Case number 2:19-cv-02712 in US District Court, the Western District of Tennessee. Here's a screenshot showing the last two filings. See link for source. "Stipulation of Dismissal" means that it's been settled or the claim was simply withdrawn. Link...
  6. Latest 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU Order Guides

And this is why I hate car dealers. I never used the military sales scheme. I never got past the paper showing their discount. It didn't look any bigger than the discounts I had always been able to negotiate while haggling with a dealer. (Obviously, at this weird moment with new cars in...
  7. Anybody else order a rubicon without options?

If I ever decide to go ahead with ordering a Rubi, it will be bare bones. Except that I do want a hard top (without a soft top at all) and an auto. No other packages or options. There are abundant after-market choices for the little things.
  8. Considering ordering a Sport instead of Rubicon, and building it up. Here's why...

Then why buy brand new at all? I can't imagine Jeep honoring the warranty after that much modding. Though I realize the market is skewed now, and you might not be able to find a suitable late-model vehicle at a reasonable price.
  9. Anyone else excited for Monday - Wrangler production resuming

I downloaded the guide from this site, but on a JLUR I don't see a way to get the "plain" V6 with an auto transmission. It's only available with the manual transmission.
  10. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Per your suggestion, I used Google to do a site search for "corrosion" on the ford-trucks.com forums. I'm not really seeing much. Focusing on their best-seller, the F-150 went all-aluminum in 2015, with the SD's following in 2017. Before that, the hoods on the F-150 had been aluminum since...
  11. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

You've had two Jeeps bought back, yet you're ordering a third? Is that correct or did I misunderstand your post?
  12. Latest 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU Order Guides

So still no price increase, at least not on the JLUR. And a salesman at a local dealer assured me in late May that prices were about to go way up! Surely he wasn't lying to me? 😜
  13. Latest 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU Order Guides

Harsh! I have a 4Runner SR5 now, and traded in a near-lemon JKUR for it. Big step down in capability, but certainly much more reliable. My JK broke down for the first time at only 5K miles (and in the middle of nowhere). The Toy is now at 53K and has yet to be towed, so that alone is a big...
  14. Are Dealerships Still Pricing Under Invoice?

Some makes/models are rare items right now. I'm still undecided between trading in my 4Runner for another one, or trading it in on a Rubi, or just keeping it. I've found that 4Runners are often already sold before they reach a dealer. I drove past the local Toyota dealer today, and was...
  15. Are Dealerships Still Pricing Under Invoice?

I'm very surprised to hear that people are even able to buy below MSRP, let alone below invoice! If I decide to pull the trigger, I wonder if I'll be able to get a Las Vegas area dealer to give me a good deal. I'd rather buy closer to home.
  16. Straight Pipes Branco Review - RIP JEEP!

Looks go me like it's off the ground a bit. IMHO, the important thing is whether you can keep going, even if one wheel loses contact. I can tell you that with my present ride (a 4Runner SR5), it's fairly easy to get a wheel off the ground. And when that happens I've usually got problems.
  17. Straight Pipes Branco Review - RIP JEEP!

Seems like it still made it through, despite one wheel being off the ground for a moment, lol. I don't have time to watch the whole video, did that Bronco have the front stabilizer disconnect?
  18. Straight Pipes Branco Review - RIP JEEP!

Reading this thread got me wondering just how wide the Bronco is! According to Ford, the Bronco (2- or 4-door) is 86.2" wide overall, 75.9" with the mirrors folded in. According to the 2021 Wrangler brochure, the Wrangler "overall width" is 73.9." I presume that is with the mirrors out, but...
  19. Straight Pipes Branco Review - RIP JEEP!

Does that have anything to do with the fact you can hose it out (at least some trim levels)? " If the inside of the Bronco does get dirty (which it will), every switch and dial is rubberized. There’s also available marine-grade vinyl seat upholstery, as well as drains on the rubberized floors...
  20. Who else besides me got eTorque and didn't know what they bought?

I've owned 13 vehicles in my life, and driven more. They all had alternators, and other than the Jeep I've never experienced a failure. I'd never heard of this failure mode (seized alternator) before it happened to me. 🤷‍♂️ But my JK seemed to be good at presenting novel problems.
