  1. 4xe issues not covered by warranty

Most of the electrical issues I would be concerned with are directly related to the 4xe hybrid system, which I am unaware of any of those not being covered under the hybrid warranty. Thatā€™s really my question is if anyone has had any 4xe hybrid specific issues not covered. My ā€˜21 Sahara has the...
  2. 4xe issues not covered by warranty

Iā€™m almost to 36,000 miles which have been basically trouble free. Iā€™m ok with assuming the risk of no extended warranty for non-4xe specific things. My question is - has anyone had repairs that are 4xe specific that were not covered under the hybrid warranty? Iā€™m weighing whether or not to...
  3. Electric range loss on Sahara after switch to Rubicon tires and wheels

Iā€™m basing my observation on my 21 mile one way commute to and from work. I arrive at work/home with about 10% less battery remaining than I used to. Iā€™m able to charge at work so I am beginning both trips with a full charge and able to make the entire trip on electric only. Small variables such...
  4. Electric range loss on Sahara after switch to Rubicon tires and wheels

Iā€™ve thought this could be it as well but itā€™s not a big enough deal to me to go to that effort to see. I bought the Rubicon wheels and tires to use off-road every now and then and will most likely put the stock Sahara wheels and tires back on for most of the time I spend driving. I like the...
  5. Electric range loss on Sahara after switch to Rubicon tires and wheels

I run the KO2s at 34psi cold, and they will increase to 36 while driving. I briefly tried increasing them to 36psi cold but it didnā€™t make any difference in the range. The ride was noticeably worse at the higher pressure which increased to 38 while driving.
  6. Electric range loss on Sahara after switch to Rubicon tires and wheels

I recently put stock Rubicon tires and wheels on my otherwise stock Sahara, and Iā€™ve consistently been getting about 10% less electric only range. I wasnā€™t expecting any noticeable difference given the torque of the electric motor, but not surprising. Of interest, the gas engine only mpg wasnā€™t...
  7. Window Tint - DFW

Not sure what part of town youā€™re in, but a little out west in Weatherford is The Tint Shop. They have been outstanding for the last several vehicles I have owned
  8. Will the 4xe be unusable in hot weather?!

Iā€™ve always got between 26-29 all electric miles on my daily route, which is mostly at 35-45mph and about 3 miles doing 60ish mph. Running my AC takes about 10% more battery charge on my 21 mile one way trip, so figure about 3 miles less range overall. I am one of the lucky ones that can charge...
  9. Will the 4xe be unusable in hot weather?!

Iā€™m over 18,000 miles, use mine as my daily driver, and am on my 2nd Texas summer. I havenā€™t had any problems with the heat affecting mine after sitting unplugged in the hot sun. Also have no noticeable battery degradation. When Iā€™m driving in the mornings when itā€™s cooler with no AC, I get the...
  10. Anybody want the Sting-Grey half doors that came with my Green Jeep?

My avatar is my current 2021 sarge green Sahara 4xe, and you are correct it has a color matched roof and fenders. My 2015 tank green Rubicon I told the story about and used to have had neither
  11. Anybody want the Sting-Grey half doors that came with my Green Jeep?

Something similar happened to me when I bought my 2015 tank green Rubicon a few years back. It had a black hardtop but the window sticker showed and charged for a color matched hard top. It wasnā€™t a big deal to me so Jeep let me keep the black hardtop and sent me a check for the full price of...
  12. Texas WTS 5 Rubicon Take Off Wheels/Tires $750

PM sent. Iā€™ll take them if they are still available and we can work out a meeting spot
  13. Stuck in hybrid mode

Youā€™re welcome and glad to hear it was an easy fix
  14. Stuck in hybrid mode

It wasnā€™t too hard. I just used a really tiny flat head screwdriver. The connector that plugs in is on the very back of the switch bank but plugs in from the bottom side, so the switch bank comes out angled down just slightly so that the connector plugged into the bottom will come out of the...
  15. Stuck in hybrid mode

Sounds exactly like what happened to mine and it was nothing more than the electrical connector came undone from the switch bank, what you are calling the control unit that you were able to push the buttons to select the drive modes. Pop that out of your dash and make sure it is plugged in. I...
  16. Why get a 4XE?

While your point does have some merit, I along with many others did not buy the 4XE because it is eco-friendly. It was actually cheaper for me to get a very nice ride with the things I wanted than buying the non-hybrid version because of the tax credit. Because of my driving habits and electric...
  17. Why get a 4XE?

I live on the outskirts of a large metro area and often attend a variety of events or go downtown. One advantage that I rarely see mentioned is that you can save your electric and use it while sitting in back ups on the freeways or in parking garages or to get in and out of events. That saves...
  18. No longer generating energy while coasting

This ^^ My daily commute takes me on a route that I can coast long enough distances to see battery percentage increase. My speed during these times is 35-45mph and the jeep will maintain that while I coast. At highway speeds, there is too much wind resistance for me to coast and maintain...
  19. No longer generating energy while coasting

Yes, 100% certain. I regularly see my battery percentage increase during long periods of coasting without the engine on.
  20. CEL light on, drive mode buttons not working **found trouble code

I was referring to the switch bank that has the buttons to open the fuel door or to select hybrid, electric, or esave drive modes. It pops out of the dash as one assembly with 2 tabs on the top and 2 on the bottom that snap it into place. The wiring connector snaps on to the back of this, but...
