  1. Does replacing steering damper on 2021 Rubicon actually fix death wobble

I am definitely replacing it (pissed they are telling me it’s back ordered for maybe two months) and hoping it is the only issue at play in my case. Thanks
  2. Does replacing steering damper on 2021 Rubicon actually fix death wobble

So I guess what I am hearing is the new damper may cover it up for a while but it will likely come back and I’ll be in the same situation down the road. As someone who isn’t really mechanically inclined and not really equipped to tinker much with steering systems what are my options if the...
  3. Does replacing steering damper on 2021 Rubicon actually fix death wobble

So if this is the case any suggestions for someone who is told this by the dealer, am not really equipped or inclined to work on my own vehicle especially when it’s still under warranty for now. Am I just screwed?
  4. Does replacing steering damper on 2021 Rubicon actually fix death wobble

Haha fair enough. I guess I am wondering how often it actually is the problem
  5. Does replacing steering damper on 2021 Rubicon actually fix death wobble

I have a 2021 JLRU that developed the dreaded death wobble at around 25K miles. Before that totally fine. Gotten to the point where I am not comfortable driving it on the highway especially with kids in it. I know it is all over this forum (so much so its hard to search) so apologize for new...
  6. CarPlay 100% Useless With iOS 15

Thanks. Always great when upgrading to something new breaks something that worked fine.. progress! But mine did work fine until i got an iphone running ios 15.... and according to the jeep cares post others have linked, mine should work since its a 2021
  7. CarPlay 100% Useless With iOS 15

I have a 2021 JLUR that I had been using carplay via the USB2 in the armrest since March 2021 with an Iphone XS running ios 14. I just got an iphone 13pro on iOS 15 and now the armrest USB is useless. Freezes after a few minutes and becomes unresponsive. The USB1 in the dash works fine. How...
  8. Help identifying engine noise

I have noticed that when it is happening it is only when the car is in gear. If I take it out of gear and rev the engine to mid 3000 rpms it sounds normal. If i put it in gear and do the same I get the sound. Not sure what the significance of this is.
  9. Help identifying engine noise

So of course although it made the noise all day yesterday it wasn’t this am when I was scheduled to bring it it. When I played my video for the service advisor he thought it could be a heat shield or something. They said they checked everything and everything was fine and could not reproduce...
  10. Rear Locker Engaged at 70 mph

I’d also go to the NHTSA and file a report. There is clearly an issue with the rubicon lockers and we need everyone to report their issues so hopefully someday there will be a recall. Mine constantly show they are locked when they are not. Yours (and a few others on here) show they actually...
  11. Help identifying engine noise

Thanks. These intermittent problems are killing me. Like my axle locker issue it will not be present when I take it in. I drove 80 miles today and sounds totally fine. Hoping to narrow it down to something specific to have them check if it isn’t making the sound when I go
  12. Help identifying engine noise

Here's the noise with oil pressure in the display
  13. Help identifying engine noise

I will try this afternoon. Hopefully it will be one of those days when the noise is present
  14. Help identifying engine noise

Thanks and agreed - something to worry about? Went prob 5500 miles before it started. Also what would cause an intermittent change in exhaust sound. If there was a hole or something wouldn't it be always there?
  15. Help identifying engine noise

I have a 2021 JL Rubicon with almost 6K miles on it. Just the past week or so it the engine started making a different sound when accelerating, usually heard between 3-4K rpms. It goes away when I shift and then comes back as the engine speed gets back between 3-4K rpms. It is intermittent...
  16. Buy or Lease?

If you get a MT because you like driving it it shouldn’t really become tiresome to drive. I recently got a MT JLUR after having an auto for the last 10 years. I am in my late 40s and after a few weeks I honestly don’t even think about it anymore, it’s second nature. The number of vehicles...
  17. What happens when the axle lock sensor fails?

I get the z-locker harness fix and I may buy a pair to keep on hand just so I am not caught without lockers if I needed them. But at this point I want the dealer / Jeep to actually acknowledge the problem. My rubicon has less than 3000 miles on it and it has had the problem since the first...
  18. What happens when the axle lock sensor fails?

nope. The first time they reset the computer, the second time they replaced the 4x4 module. If they are being honest they haven’t heard of the rubicon failed axle locker problem and don’t want to hear what I have found online. My case manager at Jeep cares is no help - despite them having a...
  19. What happens when the axle lock sensor fails?

Back to showing axles locked in 2H. Guess I will take it back to the dealer for the 3rd time same problem. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA as well
  20. Are There Any Serious Differences Between The Islander And The Sport S?

Agreed if it’s only the decals you don’t like they are easy to remove. I took my Rubicon decals off the hood with a hair dryer, goo gone and some microfiber towels. Took less than an hour.
