Cargo liners for the 4xe are still hard to get. I ordered the Jeep brand liner from BAM and here it is, installed. The rear portion sits inside the tie downs. The seatback protectors require cutting 10 one inch holes in the carpet. I thought hard about that before proceeding, but the included...
Iām 5 months in, almost all electric then a 2000 mile roadtrip. I love this thing. I had two 6 cyl Wranglers before this and the 4xe is better in every way so far. All electric for my daily driving then superior power when out on the hiway. I got about 19mpg on the tripāloaded up, mostly 75mph...
I just finished a 2000 mile road trip where I was only able to plug in the first night out. I never felt like the electric boost wasnāt there for passing, hill climbing, or pulling away from a stoplight. The engine will run almost all the time. So, your wifeās desire for power will be met to the...
Itās not on the chart yet, but the stock shocks I removed matched the length of the regular Rubicon listed here. Iām not sure if the 4xe uses the same exact shock as a standard Rubicon. Because of the extra weight, it would not surprise me if the valving is modified.
They were almost an inch shorter than the stock shocks. I did not want to lose any suspension travel. I also found the adjustment knob to be imprecise and difficult to set. I found this shock chart elsewhere on the forum. Very helpful (see the original thread for a link to the google doc...
After not liking the way Ranchoās RS9000 shocks fit on my stock height 4xe Rubicon, I was going to wait until manufacturer recommendations came down, but I was never good at patience. Last weekend I installed Fox 2.5 reservoir shocks all around and added the Fox ATS steering stabilizer while I...
You have to remember that Car and Driver has a particular point of view. I donāt think a Wrangler has ever been on their 10 Best list. They put the Gladiator on it for one year, then dropped it. Theyāre never going to love a solid axle vehicle. It does not have the attributes they are looking...
My last attempt to post this was deleted as a repost, but I donāt see it. Apologies if this is elsewhere.
Car and Driver really didnāt like the hybrid integration, but they did note that the 4xe is 1.3 seconds quicker to 60mph in 4-auto because torque is throttled back in 2wd. I will be running...
I wanted to swap out the stock shocks so I ordered some Rancho RS9000ās all around. Unfortunately, the rear shocks are 1.5ā shorter than the stock Mopars. Iām guessing the shocks on the 4xe are not the same as other Rubicons. This makes sense given the reports that the 4xe sits 1ā higher. I did...
OMG! You and I ordered on the same day. Iāve had mine for two months. Iām not sure I could have stayed sane. Iām very happy you finally got yours. I hope you love it.
Maybe this could be true, but I think itās more likely an anomaly in the trip computer. In both cases your battery is completely drained, but in the M8 case gasoline gets credit for all 82 miles (battery gets zero). Even if the 4xe engine never stops running in M8 mode (?), the battery still...
Also not an electrician, but I donāt think this is correct. If your charger has a NEMA 14-50 plug, then yes, you need 4 wires: hot, hot, neutral, ground. If you have a 6-50 plug, then only 3 wires are used: hot, hot, ground. Any electricians among us, please jump in.
The only difference is the shape of the plastic retainer around the camera. The JT version snaps right in to the 4xe grill. The JL version is made for the smaller honeycomb design of the regular JL. I donāt think it could ever be made to look right in the 4xe grill.
If you want JT Cam specific...
You can get an aftermarket front camera from Z Automotive. They are out of stock on their website but in stock at Quadratec. Donāt order the JL versionāorder the JT. It fits perfectly and looks stock. You will have to order the Tazer JL Mini programmer with it to enable the second camera input...
Z Automotiveās Tazer Mini works fine. A couple of functions are not available because of the nature of the drivetrain and braking system (no easy burnouts with the front brakes locked).
Z Automotiveās JL front camera DOES NOT fitābut the JT version does. 4xeās have the same grill as a Gladiator.
Another tidbit: the honeycomb plastic behind the grill on the 4xe (and the 392) is not the same as regular (and diesel) Wranglers. Itās a larger pattern that looks the same as the Gladiatorās. I have ordered a JT version of the camera because the JL version does not fit. Hereās a diesel grill...
