The Power Box interests me for two reasons. One is as backup power for essential systems in my house. The other is for camping. It could be used to power or recharge the batteries in a camper if the sun hasn’t shined for a few days.
I agree. If they don’t, one of the aftermarket accessory makers should design something like that. Tap into the connector where the windshield antenna connects and mount a good antenna in a concealed area.
How he wired his house made me cringe. Yikes!!! Like you said, I'm no electrician but I'm 99.999% sure that isn't up to code. Yikes!!! That said, it is nice to know you can tap into the 12v Jeep power. I do wonder what the rating for the DC-DC converter is in the 4xe. That will be the...
I'm considering a 2 door for trips with the rear seat out and probably the passenger seat folded or taken out. The idea is to pull a small trailer for the equipment and set up a base camp and to use the Jeep for sleeping. I thought about a roof top tent for the trailer but that would be hard...
Bringing back sleeping threads to keep info in one place. Would someone with a two door JL please share the interior dimensions? The width and height are probably very similar but I’m interested in the distance between the passenger side dashboard and the rear door. I’m still exploring options...
Bummer. I was hoping the AC power would be drawn off the EV battery and not the starter battery, have a decent output, and have an automatic shutoff so as not to drain the EV battery too low. The reason is that it would be a great feature for camping. Pull a nice small trailer and plug in your...
I was wondering how much interior room the battery would take up. I was hoping it would be even with the floor but that isn't the case. Thanks. And yes, I was one of those thinking of the overloading aspect. Still considering it even with the rise. Because of my height I may take out the front...
I think it was in the TFL video. I hope they either have it available when I get mine or it is available as an aftermarket add on. Also that it has sufficient current capacity. With the awareness in electrical grid fragility, it would be a good selling point for manufacturers to have managed...
It is a 17 kWh battery so that is a max. Assume 95% efficient charging (a guess) at 13 cents per kWh so 17 * 0.13 / 0.95 = $2.33. Basically a wash with gasoline for 25 miles.
Exactly my thoughts. If I can figure out a way or they give it as an aftermarket option on the first batch, use the battery to power everything I need for camping and eliminate the need for propane. A bonus is that you can crawl stretches of trails in silence.
Thanks! The third photo tells me 74" (6'2") from back of the front seat to the tailgate. Guess I'd have to sleep a little diagonal or modify the front seat.
I'm thinking of getting a JL for traveling in with my dog and cat. Yes I know it will be tight and considered the option of an Ursa Minor top but the wait is long for the top. My question is this. What is the distance between the rear door and the back of the passenger seat with the seat moved...
