If you wanted to protect your frame, you could always weld on some diamond plate or something to it. I wouldn't try to bolt it on though, I'd think anything you'd hit that would potentially damage the frame would just shear a bolt.
My winch story covers a few things asked about on here.... Used to have an '02 TJ, all stock, no winch. Went most everywhere I wanted in it. Managed to get it stuck one time in a wallered out mud hole. If I had a winch or lockers, I'm sure I could've gotten it out myself. After getting rid...
Might want to check with Hagerty Insurance. I know they insure "classic" cars, but I don't know if they do Jeeps. I had them quote my old pick up truck and they were actually a little cheaper by themselves than my regular insurance company was with all the discounts.
For what it's worth, with me personally, name dropping some of the mods, but not all of them, would keep me away. As a potential customer, I'm going to assume that the ones not branded are just cheap Walmart or Harbor Freight parts.
Also, I think another way of looking at "remove the...
One thing I'd like to point out is that where you mention the cold weather group requiring the convenience group, I'd have a dealer verify that. I found several issues with the different options on a build. I am shocked that I was able to find so many and wonder how many people opted out of...
I think lights are just getting brighter. When we first moved to our house about 3 years ago, I commented one day that the people around here seem to keep their brights on all the time (it is a rural, aka darker, area). But my wife said she hadn't noticed it. So we started looking and noticed...
I got word from the sales guy that it was due to arrive on their lot last night or this morning. I pick it up tomorrow!
So ordered Week 1, pick up Week 7.
One aspect that I've not seen addressed (granted, I haven't read all 15 pages though) is how much do you want to finance vs just pay for? If you pay cash for it all, this is moot, but if you're financing your Jeep and get a Rubi, you're financing your lockers. If you get a sport and add them...
You'd think with this being such a prominent issue, someone would have developed an aerodynamic light bar to eliminate the problem. I'm not an engineer, but I can't imagine that it would be that difficult to design a plastic housing for the lights that would fix this.
