You are correct on the shop. When I first got my Jeep I didnt know anything and just went to the shop that I knew did the lifts on the trucks in my area. I think they do branded rough country lifts. My Jeep was the first 4xe they had ever done and they had to actually ship it to RC to do...
I try to do most of the work on the Jeep myself and have learned a lot over the past 2.5 years. The suspension is one area I leave to people that have more know-how and experience than I do.
I really think I'm just stock. When I got my vehicle, I just went to a shop and told them I wanted to lift it and would at some point upgrade to 37" tires. Think they just put the lift in without doing anything else.
I have a Rubicon 4xe that has a 3.5" lift and has 37" tires on it. I have run multiple Jeep events with it and never had any issues, performed exceptionally well. This past weekend I was running some logging roads with a friend, nothing major just some big ditches and deep ruts. On every big rut...
How was the installation on the ASFIR skids? I have been looking for a while to get them, but only do serious wheeling once or twice a year, and would like to take them off and on as needed if possible to save weight on my daily commute.
I actually looked at this system a while ago for my 4xe but there wasnt information if they fit or not. Glad to finally see one installed. How was the installation? Any issues/everything line up?
I think the stock 4xe drives like a sports car, best ride I ever had. Never felt like it was top heavy or in danger of tipping and steering was very responsive. Once I added a lift and bigger tires, it still drives well, but now drives like an SUV.
I installed the console in my Rubicon 4xe. I had to call Tuffy though, because the console I bought from Quadratec did not have the correct support legs for a Rubicon. It was a total bitch to put in though; don't think I ever cussed that much in my life!! It's not hard, just very cramped space.
Today I got around to installing my dead pedal and I was able to use a 5/16” coupling nut that screwed onto the firewall bolt. Then used about an 1.5inch piece of threaded post. Slipped the dead pedal onto the post and bolted it down with a nut. It turned out quite well in my opinion. Here is a...
I bought the Hooke Road pedal. It bolts to the firewall bolt.
@moments.by.ron I will definitely need to look if the bolt extender is feasible; don't think there would be an issue, but have not really checked the bolt yet.
Just found this out last night when I tried to install my Dead Pedal. The bolt from the firewall that you used to be able to attach the dead pedal is now shorter and recessed in some hard plastic. Very frustrating and now to have to find some other way to mount it. I would return it, but I had...
I was researching installing a Level 2 charger for my new 4xe and found out that we can receive a federal tax credit of 30% of the cost of purchasing and installing an EV charging station (up to $1,000 for residential installations) until Dec 31, 2021. This makes getting and installing a station...
Is it just me or is the tow hook and rubicon trim blue a different blue than the blue trim on the hood? If so that looks horrible to me. What were they thinking?? They look the same color on the Jeep site
