  1. How far out there do you feel comfortable going solo?

I do multi day solo camp trips all the time with my dog. Working a rotating schedule doesnā€™t allow me to always meet up with my mon-fri 9-5 friends. I love my solo trips, and if I waited until I could go with others Iā€™d only get out a few times a year. That is not acceptable to me. I have...
  2. Ground tent vs sleeping in jeep

All depends on the type of trip or the weather. If itā€™s nice out, and Iā€™m gonna stay in place for a few days, tent it. Bad weather, or a place with high animal activity I want to be in the Jeep. Itā€™s perfect for me and my 80 pound dog. When I do sleep in the jeep, Reflectix on the windows have...
  3. “Service Axle Locker System” Light On

Got it back after 3.5 days. I really do hate service departments, looks like I need to invest in a good code reader to decipher this computer on wheels. Annoyed to say the least that they damaged my harness during removal of the actuator. They did repair it, but would it be unreasonable to...
  4. “Service Axle Locker System” Light On

Add me and my buddy to the long list of Jeeps affected by this. Both vehicles were built within 3 weeks of each other in 2020, and are ā€˜21 models. He has 20,000 kms on his, mine has 47,000 kms. The light doesnā€™t stay on, rather cycles on/off repeatedly while on uneven ground. It doesnā€™t stay...
  5. Camp Coffee Set Up

Stainless steel French press. Worth the extra space, everyone loves it when I bring them a coffee in the morning.

  7. How many miles/kms before your first windshield chip or break?

19 months, 42,000 kms and not a single ding. Had some hard hits that I thought for sure weā€™re gonna crack it. I probably shouldnā€™t have said anything, as I probably jinxed myself
  8. JLU Rubicon MPG comparison across engines (2.0T, 3.6, 392, 4XE, 3.0D)

21 3.6 Etorque, 4.10 gears, 75 pound 35x12.5 tires, 30 pound aftermarket wheels, Mopar lift, Mopar steel bumpers, hardtop , winch, steel sliders. I get around 14-16 MPG
  9. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

It absolutely is easy to camp solo with your jeep. A good foam pad or air mattress, and store your stuff under the jeep while you sleep. I love it, and have the best sleep
  10. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

Iā€™m always comfy with my jeep, all I need is a dry space and I sleep in the back
  11. Post your local gas/fuel prices [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

$2.39 a LITRE in BC, Canada. Costs almost $140 to fill my tank now
  12. Warning to ALL potential Rubicon owners!

Wrap it in something loud and obnoxious and they wonā€™t want to drive it. Hubby hates my jeep, so I get it all to myself
  13. Confession time…

I got the rear Center seatbelt buckle jammed between something down there. Had to fold down the seat to get to something in the back. Forced the seat downwards because I couldnā€™t figure out why it wasnā€™t letting me fold it down, and completely squished my Center seatbelt buckle. Itā€™s gonna be...
  14. Camping setup (don’t want a rooftop tent)

I have many different setups, depending on what type of trip I do. Pop up shelter that becomes kitchen/dry gear storage space. one bin that has backpacking cooking gear, utensils, hygiene needs, lighting, fuel/oil for the chainsaw. Chainsaw/axe always comes with me. Then one bag of clothes...
  15. Sleeping in Jeep/RTT how to stay warm in cold weather?

Condensation is going to happen, even if you crack a window. I set up the temp control to be on recirculating/AC/heat to help dry out the air, and keep a cloth handy for wiping the inside of the windows.
  16. Camp Coffee Set Up

Stainless steel insulated French press. Keeps the coffee hot, and doesnā€™t taste burnt like a percolated coffee does
  17. Heavy-Duty brakes vs Rubicon brakes

Iā€™ve been researching brakes lately because I need to do mine. Found some interesting things. Sport models are BRY, Willys/Sahara/Rubicon are BR6. High altitude models like yours are a BR5 brake code.
  18. Sleeping in Jeep/RTT how to stay warm in cold weather?

Iā€™ve done camping in snow this winter. I sleep in the jeep with a foam mattress, a very thick sleeping bag, fuzzy blanket as a liner, toque, and well dressed for bed. Yes, my sleeping gear is bulky, but a good nights sleep is worth every inch of space. Iā€™ll also cheat a little and run the remote...
