I'm going to disagree with you on that. My wifes jeep had original repair (hyrdraulics etc). Her Jeep has never been used like it should. She has been driving a 5spd for 25 years etc. It started slipping under normal acceleration just giving it gas on the interstate etc. There is more to...
What's weird... is we never recall smelling the burnt clutch smell throughout this whole process. I.e. I would have expected to smell it when she parked in the garage.
The issue of the slipping clutch happened after we took it in and had the original recall work done which only involved hydraulics I believe. I get it that clutches are wear parts, but this Jeep is used to haul kids and has never towed anything, been off road etc. My wife has driven a 6speed...
I'll start this reply by saying thank you to Kaitlin @JeepCares on this forum. She is awesome and is looking out for us.
I had original recall work done then clutch started slipping after the recall work was done. Dealership blamed it on being wear part. JeepCares got involved and had all...
I have MINI JCW 6 Speed also. I plan on giving it or the Jeep to one of my kids. I figured a 6 speed will be like Kryptonite to other kids driving it. My wife has a salon she goes to that has limited parking and valet. And she tells me valets always leave her in front because they can't...
It's funny I have supposedly burned out a clutch, but my wife and I have never recalled ever smelling a burnt clutch etc. or doing anything that would have causes it. I suspect we were slowing experiencing the results of the recall issue. I stopped in and talked to the Diezel at Stacked...
I predict there will be a lot of annoyed Jeep manual owners if that is "normal". I can't image guys who use there Jeeps off-road would have clutches lasting beyond 25k. I'm thinking I'm going to use an aftermarket clutch instead of Jeeps.
Sorry. It has 47000 miles on it now. I'm looking to see what mileage it was when recall was performed. I think it was like 43600 when recall was done. It was in service on August 28th of this year.
My wife and I have owned 5 cars with 5 speeds and have never had to replace a clutch. My younger self could have worn out a clutch in 2000 miles. :). I'll PM her. I have a message into the service rep asking if they performed a clutch test when they did the work. I believe that was probably...
Hey everyone. This is my first post. I found forum googling JL Clutch issues. This is not my first 5spd. I've owned vehicles with over 200k on their original clutch and I've never owned a vehicle that needed clutch replaced. I just got off the phone with customer service rep at my location...
