@installer88 I am curious to hear what they find out. I have a 2021 JLU 2.0T with the same noise at start up. It goes away after about a minute.
I had a mechanic give a listen. Mind you he does not specialize in Jeeps, but he suggested it could be a timing chain sound and that once the oil...
I understand your concerns. If you are not confident in the shop doing the work properly, then I can understand not feeling safe in the vehicle. As for build quality, I think there are 2 different issues. One is the actual build quality...and we see lots of posts about this...people having all...
I thought the same...admittedly it was not a bad outcome for me...but still...if there is a next time I will pick a highly rated collision shop that is *NOT* in the insurance company's network.
Sorry to hear about your Jeep.
I just updated my own story here:

For me a diminished value claim was a no-go. But my situation wasn't as bad...but aggravating and infuriating all the same. You should check out your...
Sorry to hear you got hit. I feel your pain...I was there recently. My 2021 JLU 80th Anniversary with 5,600 miles got hit in the left rear while parked outside my house.
You'll find details on my situation here and a lot of good input from others in the forum...
@Rhinebeck01 you have a JL? I have a 2021 JLU 80th Anniv (Sport S) and the top edge of the tailgate does not go into that groove. It rests against the gasket below that deep groove. Just curious...as mine doesn't look as you described. Maybe there is a variation between Sport/Rubicon/etc?
@mgroeger thank you for the tip! I applied some of this stuff to the bottom seal of the rear window glass and it totally eliminated the rattle!
I just got my Jeep back from the shop after a rear bumper collision repair (see...
That is a great point! I will add it to my argument. I ordered the factory trailer package, so it is easy to prove I intend to use the vehicle for towing.
You make a very good point that I thought about also...the risks of having the Jeep "reassembled" to swap frames. I agree that solution is prone to problems also. As it is now, I have a rattle in the rear window I never had before. Don't know how the collision shop could have caused it, but it...
This is covered 100% under the insurance of the people that hit me. Coincidentally happens to be the same insurance company I have...that may help me...not sure yet (I can make the if you want to keep me as a customer argument...)
Yes...great question. Between getting this fixed properly and the diminished value claim (my Jeep is a 2021 with 5500 miles on it), I'm going to be busy the next couple of weeks. :(
@Mgg253 so the shop put her on the frame machine and "unbuckled" the frame and applied some paint. Here is what the frame fix looks like now (left frame rail behind the rear axle). Came to about $1650 (paid by the other party's insurance) including replacing the rear bumper and brackets. It has...
Thanks for the info!
In this case the responsible party has the same insurance company as I do.
I don't know if it is always this way in NY, but I just opened a claim with the other party's insurance. He was all pissed off because I insisted on a police report and wouldn't make a cash deal...
Yeah...body shop said they may have to try...but he already looked into getting a new frame and said it would be about 1.5 weeks to get one if needed. What do you mean by "diminished value claim?"...trying to get money for the loss in market value? How would I handle that? With their insurance...
Honestly I don't know. We heard the impact from inside the house. The speed limit in the neighborhood is like 20 mph and the roads are actually purposefully built with curves and not straight runs to minimize speeding. The body shop guy estimated 30 mph. If you believe the other cars story it...
