As I mentioned earlier, I REALLY want to know what was done to fix this. I am so curious that after all this time out of nowhere just starts working. Why now???
I think I would pay $$ to know what they did to fix it- lol
Same here, but what is happening now is different. For over 2 years, mine would work for no more than 10 minutes at a time and then stop. And sometimes not at all. Now it is working all the time- probably a total of about 12 hours straight for me over the past week.
Knocking on wood that it...
So just a quick update- we were in the car on a long trip for over 7 hours yesterday and the favorites feature worked flawlessly the entire time. It has now worked perfectly for over a week. So while I am afraid of jinxing it, for us I think this issue is FINALLY fixed. I almost can't believe...
So far so good- another hour in the car and favorites working the entire time. That is now about 5 or 6 straight hours over the past week where it has worked perfectly. As stated earlier, that has never happened the entire almost 2 years I have had my Jeep.
So- anyone else out there having it...
Just checking in on this thread- have not posted in quite awhile. I definitely had given up on the Sirius favorites working correctly ever again, and I pretty much stopped even paying attention to it.
But I started to notice that anytime I checked it seemed to be working. And yesterday went on...
Yep- same here, I have pretty much given up all hope. Agree completely with your statement/hypothesis about this being something on the Sirius side that is the issue. But the thing I still don't get- and never will- is why it works just fine for the first couple of minutes after starting the car...
Welp- looks like this thread has almost died- we are now into 2021 Q3 and no fix in sight that I know of. I remain skeptical this is ever going to get fixed...
So one more dumb question on the OTA update- it says the ignition should be off. So you just turn the car off and then start the update?? The screen does not turn off after 10 minutes like usual? Does it stay on the screen giving you the update progress % even with the car off???
Appreciate all the info from you guys. So far I have not received the update notification- (2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland).
Any of you guys who have received the OTA update driving a Grand Cherokee by chance???
Also- have you had any negative issues of any kind after accepting the update...
Yep- many have reported that the dealers just suggest replacing the entire system- but that is not the answer- doing that will NOT fix this favorites issue. So for me I am not even bothering taking it to my dealer- no way I am replacing my entire system
I have a new 2020 JGC Overland, and have not had this on it, BUT- on my old 2015 JCG Limited, this exact thing happened to me 2 times. Even after turning the car off the radio and connect stayed on. And there was nothing you could do- the screen was frozen. Like yours, mine did shut off after...
Even if this worked, it would not be a solution for me, because "Tune Start" is one of the best features of the Uconnect/Sirius system. For anyone who doesn't know what it is or doesn't use it, for all of your preset sirius stations, whenever you go to a channel it automatically starts the song...
That certainly sounds encouraging, but we have heard that before so as always I will believe it when I see it.
Maybe I am crazy but it shouldn't be that difficult or take so long to correct this favorites issue- oh well.....
You can also hit the "browse" button- there is a favorites tab you can click to see what favorites are currently playing. You don't have to hit the alert
So today I went on around a 40 minute drive without turning car off- and my favorites worked correctly for the entire trip. I bought this car (2020 GC) in October and this is the first time it has ever worked for that long- before today the longest it ever worked for me was around 10 minutes.
