I've already installed the trailer wiring harness, now I'm installing the brake controller + the additional harness for Jeep that doesn't have the tow package. The diagram depicts how to connect the trailer wiring harness "blue" wire, to the brake controller harness and the brake signal wire (B15)
Great - glad you go it to work.
I've been staring at these "instructions" for a while, and I can't figure out how it wants me to combine these wires...in one picture (43) it looks like DG & the trailer harness blue wire together and DG/WH & B15 together, yet pictures 44 to 49 only depict 3...
I'm looking to do the same, best I can tell in the instructions, we need this additional harness: 82216416AA
That harness, ties in the blue wire from the trailer tow harness (82216359aa). The weird part is the instruction is referring to the trailer tow harness as "82215398XX" which is the old...
BSM is nice to have, but really if you adjust your mirrors this way, it removes most of your blind spots. When I'm sitting back in my seat, i don't see any part of the jeep in my mirror.
But i still recommend doing a shoulder check as good practice.
There is in fact regenerative braking :) just not like a Prius would do it. The same eclectic motor that charges the 48v battery from the engine rotation will do so on deceleration and coasting. That why our jeeps with this system, experience a pretty aggressive "slow-down" when we release...
Not sure it can. the DC-to-DC converter needs to be operating in order for it to be providing power to the 12V system. Based on all the information I've read, I believe the engine needs to be running, as the DC-To-DC converter is tied to the electric generator (which needs engine rotation for...
I have the same setup (same fridge, same battery), and in the real world, I would go from 100% to 70%-67% in 12 hours overnight. I get close to 35-37 hours from a full battery. But I would not let it go below 10%.
I’m looking into installing a redarc dc to dc charger. Since the JL with etorque has no alternator, rather uses a belt driven generator for the 48v system, does it have the same characteristic as a “smart” alternator or standard alternator ? Does it reduce charge voltage when the start battery...
Hello -
I'm a bit confused about the maximum voltage of an air compressor. I've purchased the smittybilt 2781, and it states a maximum voltage of 13.8V. On idle, I've seen the Jeep read between 14.2.-14.7 volts, very rarely do I see it under 14v. Does this mean I can't use the compressor...
Could what you are experiencing is simply the “e-lockers”? We’re brake force is being applied to the wheel that is loosing the most traction on the axle? I remember reading the the e-lockers will engage when the real lockers are not engaged on a given axle.
With my 2021 jlu, I could not get that sucker to stay in 4 lo. It would always slip out into neutral. I finally gave up and brought it in to the dealership. The dealership was convinced it was user error, but after convincing them to go test drive it, they came back and said their was an issue...
I got it from:
https://www.justforjeeps.com/jl-trailer-hitch-wiring-harness.html
This harness kit (82216359AA) replaces (82215896). I agree the instructions are not great, but if you take your time it's not difficult. The only thing I did not do as per the instruction, is to remove the inner...
I recently installed the MOPAR wiring, yes it more expensive but I really liked the quality. Just make sure you get the new version of the kit as it does not require dissembling your interior (part number 82216359AA). It was a pretty straight forward ordeal, you will need a rivet tool and some...
I have been looking around the forums for this exact issue. This is my first keep, 2021 jlu rubicon and I don’t know if this is normal or not? When I start the jeep or just in « run » the etc light comes on for 2 second and goes away, right about when the battery voltage climbs past 12.3v...
