  1. Possible Alternative To The Tow Harness Killing The Battery

If one is ordering a new JL and planning on towing it, it would be a no brainer to order it with the factory harness for the lights. Just for reference Im currently using a Curt wire harness and the RVi 3 brake system with the RVi battery tender and have had no issues.
  2. Step Suggestions

I went with the Quadratec Brute Strength side steps and couldnā€™t be happier. Yes they are body mounted same as the OEM rock sliders, but Iā€™m not planning on doing any extreme off roading. But if it happens it happen! They do seem to sit a bit higher than the OEMā€™s. I painted the pinch seam with...
  3. Quadratec Brute Strength Side Steps Review

As many of you reading this I have also spent endless hours reading all the posts on the different side steps and rock sliders. A couple of conclusions I came to was if one is going hard core wheeling then the frame mount would probably be the choice. The other being why would anybody go with a...
  4. Bull bar vs. No Bull bar?

RubiBlueJLU, thanks for the reply, I have the OEM steel bumper group so trying to figure out which base plates and winch plates will work together. I really like the looks of the Rock Jock base plate. Again nice job on the front of your JL thanks Bruce
  5. Bull bar vs. No Bull bar?

RubiBlueJLU sorry not meaning to hijack the thread, but I also noticed that your JL is a toad as well. I really like the nice and clean look with everything you have going on there on the front of your JL. Just a couple of questions. How is the Rock Jock base plate working out for you? Where...
  6. Weathertech No-Drill Mud Flaps (18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon) Item J133351-JL

  7. Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

Iā€˜ll be using all the same RVi equipment when I get done rigging out the JL. Thanks for posting your hookup procedure document. Nicely done!
  8. Caution on towing setup

Firstly I just want say that I totally agree on what you have said, but Iā€™m wondering is this information something that you gotten directly from FCA? Someone here has mentioned the Draw-Tite hitch to replace the Mopar hitch. It does look to be a bit beefier than the Mopar hitch however it is...
  9. Who blatantly tows a camper OVER 3500#?

wondering which weigh distribution hitch you are using and is this with a original Mopar hitch on the Jeep? thanks!
  10. RockJock (Currie) Tow Bar Base Plate

Thanks for the write up pictures of your set up gm920. I do like the way the Smittybilt winch and base plate keep the winch tucked down low in the bumper. I didnā€™t realize some of the base plates moved the bumper out, thanks for pointing that out. From a previous toad I have a Roadmaster tow bar...
  11. RockJock (Currie) Tow Bar Base Plate

Thanks for getting back to me on the winch plate Stacy!
  12. Need some advice re setting up new 2021 Rubicon for being towed

Jmonroe, Iā€™m starting to rig my JL for towing and have a question for you on the RVi charger. I had the RVi charger previously on a F150 and when I wired it I ran the positive wire directly to the positive on the F150ā€™s battery and tied the ground wire to a frame ground lug which had other large...
  13. RockJock (Currie) Tow Bar Base Plate

Strubi, thanks for the review and picture. I see you have a winch mounted as well. Can you tell me which winch plate you used with the RockJock base plate? Bruce
  14. RockJock (Currie) Tow Bar Base Plate

Looking for some pros, cons or reviews on the RockJock base plate for the JL with the Mopar steel bumpers. There have been some very good write ups on the RockJock base plateā€˜s for the JLā€™s with the plastic bumpers, which is different base plate than the one used on the JLā€™s with the steel...
  15. Lessons learned - setting up a JL as a TOAD - long read

Whaler, thanks for responding on those possible issues I had read about. I have the Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar which is supposed to be an all terrain tow bar as well. I may have to have another look at the Maximus-3 tow loops thanks Bruce
  16. Lessons learned - setting up a JL as a TOAD - long read

Iā€™ve been looking at the Maximus-3 tow loops as well and really do like the looks of them, however there could be a couple of issues when using the Roadmaster adapters #rm-035. The first one being they are made to fit a 3/4ā€ lug and the Maximus-3 tow loops are only 5/8ā€. Could be rectified with...
  17. Lessons learned - setting up a JL as a TOAD - long read

Those do look similar to the Blue Ox ones I have on my Roadmaster tow bar, RockJock maybe able to confirm mine will work. Hereā€™s what mine look like
  18. Lessons learned - setting up a JL as a TOAD - long read

Captain thanks for the write up! Iā€™m just starting to rig my Wrangler for flat towing and looking all the different options. I already have a Roadmaster two bar but it has Blue Ox adapters/clevis on it. Do you have any pictures of your Blue OX clevis that you mentioned hooked directly up to the...
  19. Maximus-3 JL Tow Loops (Front & Rear)

The Roadmaster #rm-035 adapters are the closest ones to working with the Maximus-3 Tow Loops. They are built to fasten to a 3/4ā€ lug where the Maximus tow loops are only 5/8ā€. I think this isnā€™t a big problem with adding some shims t take up the gap. The other possible problem Iā€™ve seen...
  20. What do you use on Wrangler tires to clean/protect/keep black shine?
