  1. JL transmission issues

The big question here is what does Jeep do wrong in their implementation to make this transmission perform so poorly on starts and stops when we all know the ZF series is good, the question is what are they doing wrong from the factory because so many Jeeps have reported this issue. Do they...
  2. Goodbye to my third Jeep (JLUR) bc fire!

I'm just telling you that you are overheating wires with all those lights and lightbars I see and that's the cause. I have seen first hand many Jeep fires and it all comes down to additional high powered lights, Air Pumps, lightbars, accessories. I can see that you have many and I'm sure that...
  3. Goodbye to my third Jeep (JLUR) bc fire!

Honestly when you go hooking up lights on the bumpers, the good, extra power drawing devices including a winch and all the other little accessories I see burned in the photos you can't really blame Jeep for the carnage. It's likely you overheated your wires with all that stuff not properly...
  4. Xtreme Recon vs Rubicon - Any info on front axle and suspension differences

Yes they are, the front is a Mojave axle used in the Gladiator which is very strong.
  5. Rough country skid plates

Can anyone comment on weather they have adapted or tried using this on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL with 3.6L eTorque?
  6. Fuel Mileage - Jeep Wrangler Rubicon - Xtreme Recon Edition

Unfortunately with these Jeeps and tire size unless you run 40PSI you won't get much better, but the ride is terrible at 40PSI so either sacrifice your back or your wallet. Neither one is a great option :)
  7. Fuel Mileage - Jeep Wrangler Rubicon - Xtreme Recon Edition

I tried installing a chipyourcar chip to get a few mpg more but it didn't really work too well. That's strange since I had a Maserati and I got about 4MPG better mpg's with it installed. Not sure why it's so ineffective on this vehicle. I definitely notice more power tho.
  8. Fuel Mileage - Jeep Wrangler Rubicon - Xtreme Recon Edition

What about a mild chip nothing crazy just the Chipyourcar to give it a little better MPG and power? Anyone experience that instead of tuning on the 3.6 Engine?
  9. Picked up my Rubicon Xtreme Recon - pics and first review / impressions

Yes you're right springs are cheap, shocks not so much but to effectively change the ride you would need both. I can also note that the Full Time Rock Trac version of the Rubicon XR rides much better and feels more connected to the road due to the AWD. The Part time AWD does not feel the same...
  10. Picked up my Rubicon Xtreme Recon - pics and first review / impressions

I don't know I just bought my XR in CA, and I had my choice from 5 dealerships. However, I'm sure they are hard to get if you're looking in a short radius.
  11. Picked up my Rubicon Xtreme Recon - pics and first review / impressions

Yes don't do 3.5 it's way too high and it's just going to create instability which a huge investment in other parts. Stick with 2.5 Max and that should settle down a bit but you will still clear 35's easily. Some folks also like Meta but RK uses the same Silicon Alloy Steel or similar than...
  12. Picked up my Rubicon Xtreme Recon - pics and first review / impressions

The XR is definitely stable out of the box but no travel on the suspension is the problem. I know owners don't buy these things to drive on the road all the time so offroad with all of that clearance and capabilities should come with more than 1 inch of bump stop clearance, the spring solves...
  13. 2022 Jeep Rubicon Xtreme Recon First Drive Review | Bracing for Bigfoot -- by Autoblog

Putting 35's on a 2 door Jeep is kinda suicide in my opinion, they already suffer from stability a bit with a 4door, I guess if you never want to drive on the actual road ever it would be ok.
  14. Picked up my Rubicon Xtreme Recon - pics and first review / impressions

The XR has some great benefits that are worth the 3.9K package. 4:56 Gear Ratio, Wheels Tires, they have the 3rd generation Mojave Dana 44 front Axle, and you get the 4 wheel Antilock disk brakes that are on the 392. I'm not a fan of the stiff springs in the front and back or the red mopar...

They do this to address the safety sensors for the safety group/LED light package. This means that black piece that sticks out contains the safety sensors for lane changing etc.
  16. Shock, Springs & Suspension Information Chart Matrix

Well I did a bit more than that, I spoke with Rockkwrawler directly and although they said it 'should' give me a 1.5 inch lift it went to 2 1/25 inches. Anyways, the only way at this point is to see a mfg commit to actual height guidance on an XR if that will ever happen.
  17. Shock, Springs & Suspension Information Chart Matrix

The problem is the 4Xe is a completely different weight distribution so we can't really say 1.5 inches on a non battery system as It's much heavier. I'm still looking for solid data on a spring that will actually get you 1.5 inches on an Xtreme Rubicon 2021 without a steel bumper. This has been...
  18. Shock, Springs & Suspension Information Chart Matrix

That's great thanks! Rockkrawler 2.5 inch spring RK07014 are 20.5 inches fully extended (on the floor)and on my particular 2021 Xtreme Recon Rubicon it gives me about 2.25 inches of lift over stock. More than I wanted but hopefully they will settle in a bit.
  19. Shock, Springs & Suspension Information Chart Matrix

Do you have the length measurements as those front springs set on the floor uncompressed? I'm in desperate need of that measurement. I want to order some RockKrawler springs but need to be sure on length.
