  1. JL Wrangler vs Bronco rigs side by side look

Prefer the classic, old-school lines of the Wrangler, especially the two-door. Still reminds me of an old CJ. The Bronco is a retro re-do that looks too similar to the Toyota FJ Cruiser, IMHO. Now, the ride/feel of the Bronco remains to be seen. We'll know in a year or two if it's a hit, once...
  2. 2 Door JL Sport ONLY - Let's see them!

Less than a week old, my 2021 Sport S is already experiencing snow in CT!
  3. Break-in period, who follows it?

Just picked up my 2021 Wrangler Sport S (2-door) ... and my salesman and service manager insisted there is no longer a break-in period for Jeeps. I pointed out the section in the owner's manual about the break-in, and the response was that it's still unnecessary regardless of what's in the...
  4. Heated steering wheel too hot

Yeah, I guess it depends on the manufacturer. I owned a 2015 BMW X1 for a couple of years and that heated steering got hot AND stayed hot. I guess the Jeep steering wheel is supposed to give you a quick jolt of heat in the cold, but is not meant to maintain the heat at a high level.
  5. JL corrosion

Perhaps, but I guess it would come down to whether I want a couple of paint chips on bolts or corrosion and bubbling paint. I vote for a couple of nicked-up bolts. I just got a 2021 Wrangler Sport S 2-door. Depressing that I now need to worry about this on a new $40K-plus vehicle. At least the...
  6. Heated steering wheel too hot

I'll double-check, but it seems that the entire steering wheel cools down and stays lukewarm, but not "hot" in any one section and/or on any rotation of heat. Only had the Jeep two days, so I'll run some tests. Thanks.
  7. Heated steering wheel too hot

Bumping this thread with a related question .... Just picked up my 2021 Wrangler Sport S and I find that the heated steering wheel heats up very quickly, gets nice and hot, but then cools down significantly after about 10 minutes or so. Does it heat back up to "hot" again after a certain amount...
  8. Cold Weather Group Explained

I believe Jeep has changed this option. The engine heater seems to be a separate add-on now that is not included in the Cold Weather Package. Most of the posts earlier in this thread are a couple of years old, when presumably the engine heater was part of the Cold Weather Package.
  9. Steering issues cured by installing new Steering gear box! (per TSB 08-074-20)

Can we assume that all 2021 Jeeps will come with this new-and-improved steering box?
  10. 2021 WRANGLER BUILD AND PRICE IS UP!!!

Ah, thanks, that's what I thought. But it's odd the website specifies ESS on one V6 engine (without eTorque), but not on the other (with eTorque), especially if all Wranglers come with it anyway. I assume (hope) ESS can still be turned off with the push of a button.
  11. 2021 WRANGLER BUILD AND PRICE IS UP!!!

So, does this mean for 2021 that if you select the V6 with eTorque that the engine does NOT come with ESS?
  12. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Got it, thanks. So, it sounds as if it would be painted in Satin black (in advance) only if ordered as part of your factory build on a new Jeep Sport, but if you order it after the fact you'd need to paint it Satin yourself, or buy the version for the Rubicon/Sahara, and then just deal with...
  13. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Yes, understood, thanks. Was just clarifying the type of grille on the white Jeep Sport posted earlier in this thread. Sounds like that is a different type that didn’t come already painted in Satin. The part number is different anyway. Do you happen to know the part number for the Mopar black...
  14. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Well, then I’m baffled. Just about all the places that sell that Mopar grille say this about it: “Fits Jeep Wrangler (JL). Sport Model JL Wrangler Require Grille Surround Molding #6BY76TZZAA and 6CG98TZZAA.” I wonder if Mopar is making the grille differently now. Doesn’t seem to make sense...
  15. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Looks great! Is this the Mopar satin black grille for the Sport model (part # 82215114)? And did it all come in one piece or did you need separate side and bottom molding/trim pieces?
  16. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Thanks! Yes, that is the optional Mopar black satin grille for the Sport model in my photo (actually it's the digital image/recreation of my build from the Jeep website.) In any event, I'll post photos when I get the new Jeep and we'll know for sure what everything looks like. My dealer assured...
  17. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

That was indeed the optional Mopar black satin grille on the Sport, taken from the Jeep website when you "build" the vehicle with the options you want. I spent a lot of time researching this issue and talking to the dealer who just took my order for my 2021 Jeep Sport S. The bottom line is that...
  18. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Thanks, and fair points. Another complication about buying the Mopar satin grille separately for the Sport, and not as part of the factory build, is that the trim pieces are a slightly different black finish compared to the black satin finish on the grille. My dealer said the trim pieces, when...
  19. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Thanks, and it confirms what I thought. Because the Sport grille has the bottom and side pieces molded into the main part, you need the separate molding kit if you’re swapping it out for the Mopar black satin grille. That’s if you do it after ordering/buying a Sport with the standard body-color...
  20. Mopar Satin Grille for Jeep Wrangler

Yes, this seems to be the case for the Sahara/Rubicon, but you cannot transfer the painted pieces from the grille on the Sport model. It's a different design. That's why you need the additional trim pieces when ordering the Mopar satin grille if you're putting it on the Sport. And I assume...
