Coolant reservoir almost empty at 14000 miles. Any ideas why so low? What coolant is a good replacement?

Has anyone removed the front upper passenger side control arm bolt? It looks like the frame bolt is almost blocked by the exhaust. Planning on doing lift this weekend and just planning for anything the might slow me down.
