This is called "Cold air intake". You get air into that plastic shroud. I apologize for not looking good enough into this before posting. I removed the piece of the airbox with the upper intake shroud before posting and was looking only at the lower shroud. Ys sorry for that , It looks like...
Thanks a lot for taking time to try to explain how it works to me :-). I will look into it and try to understand how it works. If your right then its not the big problem I thought it would be.
Ok You might be right but I need some explanation. Does it then have more then this intake for the Air ?. I´m seriously asking , might have misunderstood how it works.
I removed according to instructions the Cold air intake , and that is the one on the picture. Is there another intake then...
I bought and installed a Rugged Ridge Snorkel on my 2020 JL Rubicon. It surpriced me a little how low and vulnerable the original air intake is for water ingress.
If I had known before intstalling the snorkel I would have been much more careful crossing rivers.
It is straight in front...
Ys , I´m gonna do that. I´m using little Snitch to control In and Outgoing traffic from the Internet ( Machintosh ) might have something to do with it.
Or maybe I am a ROBOT like the say above LOL :-). Then one of the most ADVANCED ROBOT EVER.
Anyone knows why it happen so often when signing into this webpage "jlwranglerforums.com" ?. Having to find signs, traffic lights, cars etc.
It bothers me so much , I dont use this Webpage nomore. When it opens up with these questions I normally just close the page and go somewhere else...
Same thing in Iceland. A friend came for a visit, took a little drive on the JL and he told me they dont sell the diesel (2.2 ) anymore in Iceland :-(. I´m lucky to have one :-). Love that engine. I think the only model sold here now is the hybrid one.
No problem with the TUV. The only thing I have to do to be legal is . Total lift no more then 10% of the standard height ( body lift plus tire difference ) . Standard tires 32.6 inch *1.1 = 35,86 inch ( would be the biggest tires I could have without thinking about TUV. I´m within limits.
At first I had 35 inch BFG AT tires with no lift , no spacers. It did rub a little bit on the lower control arms but, there is a Steering stop adjustment screw on the inside of the brake caliber. Its enough to turn it out just few mm out to avoid rubbing.
I dont like Wheel Spacers even if...
Then I recently added the tow hooks. Bought them from Ebay along with the these two brackets.
I removed the original Tow Hook ( the round circle one , it has two of these brackets, but I needed two more for the other two hook.
Bought it used from Ebay. Then just cut a little from the plastic...
Sorry for late reply. Have been busy. I used a little lightbar I got for my previous Suzuki Jimny. It has a L bracket. I took the plastic bumper off and used the mounting holes on the L bracket and drilled trough the metal bumper that is inside of the plastic bumper. Very easy and simple...
Finished the install today. Had to take the plastic bumper apart and do a lot of cutting on the plastic inside the bumper , but was easy to do and looks fine :)
Yes I will take some pictures when doing this. I think I´m getting the tow hooks in few days, just got notification from FedEx. But I will also need Front Tow Hook Reinforcement ( https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/front-tow-hook-reinforcement-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt). You need two on each...
I have mine on 315/70/17 or 34,4 inch BFG All Terrain. I have a levelling kit and a terraflex adjustable trackbar. I bought it when I realized that my Ruby got much more dirty at the driver side and then realized that the lift had shifted the tires a little bit to the drivers side.
I have on...
Got the Tazer and disabled the tpm. Hate it. I like to drive on dirt roads with 15psi and I dont like to get the warning every time. On the tazer you you can lower the tire pressure warning limit but not enough for what I use , but thanks god it also allowes you to just disable the tpmw...
I have already ordered the Tow Hooks from Ebay along with some brackets that are needed from behind ( from Quadratec ) Yes then I need to cut holes for the hooks. Everything I order these days take forever to arrive. I have no idea when it will arrive, hopefully before Christmas ;-).
Here is...
