  1. Diesel and Big Tires

This thread is 4 years old and the Gen3 EcoDiesel hasn’t yet been released in the Wrangler. Of course it’s all speculation. There has been ample real world experience outlined in these forums in the years since. Look at half the threads in the first page of the EcoDiesel section and they nearly...
  2. Anyone towing with their Diesel?

Geez. My JLURD came equipped with the larger opening grille from the factory (have the front trail cam). I had no idea my radiator was now so dangerously exposed. Reckon I better go build a suit of armor around my Jeep (and the world) from all those dangerous radiator-killing bugs.
  3. Ecodiesel Eco-nomics & Issues

I reckon if I was using boxes, I would just put one in when the gauge hit 1/4 tank. Should take it back to 3/4 tank. No shutting itself down, no overfilling. As it stands, I drive by a truck stop every day so I used it the first time I filled and haven’t needed a second time yet.
  4. Ecodiesel Eco-nomics & Issues

I put 4.5gals in at around 3300 miles, IIRC. Being it is listed as a 5.1gal tank, I reckon that “500 mile to fill” message was probably not far off. That said, I’ve driven over 1000 miles since filling and the DEF gauge is still pegged at 100%. Maybe it uses less as it breaks in.
  5. Window 12v Box Fan?

I use a set of mesh covers on the rear windows and this little USB rechargeable fan. https://smile.amazon.com/10000mAh-Operated-Rechargeable-Hurricane-Emergency/dp/B089QQ87RY/ref=dp_prsubs_2?pd_rd_i=B089QQ87RY&psc=1 I run REALLY hot, and this little one has been enough for me so long as the...
  6. Wiring Bundle on the exhaust side

If you lay down directly behind the front passenger wheel, you can look up behind the fender liner (pull it out a bit) and you can see the wire loom. Bring a single zip tie and a pair of wire pliers with you to the dealership and you can "fix" the potential issue in roughly 1 minute, no dealer...
  7. Camper recommendations?

For me, a soft shell roof tent with an annex was the solution. Annex is for the dogs, tent is for the people. No need to hook to a trailer. Doesn't answer your question, though.
  8. Roam Adventure Co Rugged Mounts

It just so happened that these were released right as I was shopping for a cargo box and ultimately, despite the insane cost of both the box and the bracketry, I also fell for it. I've put about 1000 miles on the Jeep since putting the box up there, and I'm happy with the function. It...
  9. 2019 JLUR 3.6 8speed, 4.88 gearing with 37/12.50/17 Getting 11.5 MPG

A 4-wheel alignment on a Jeep Wrangler isn't worthwhile. The solid rear axle is fixed; it has no ability to adjust camber, caster, or toe (unless you have aftermarket control arms, at which point you have some pinion/caster control). The solid front axle has no camber adjustments and caster...
  10. Interesting: steering wheel damper on Ecodiesel Wranglers

Yep, just a little 1.5lbs weight hanging at the lower portion of the steering wheel. I've been trying real hard the last couple days to convince myself I feel a difference between how the 2022 steers now vs how the 2020 steered when it had the same tires and such that are now on the 2022 and...
  11. Interesting: steering wheel damper on Ecodiesel Wranglers

I guess I wasn't very clear in the order of things: - My 2020 JLUR (gas engine) came with the brushed aluminum-looking plastic steering wheel bezel. - I installed a black plastic steering wheel bezel from a JL Sport onto my 2020 JLUR about 18 months ago - When my 2022 JLUR (diesel engine)...
  12. Interesting: steering wheel damper on Ecodiesel Wranglers

As mentioned above, I was swapping the trim bezel piece. The aluminum colored plastic bezel on the Rubicon steering wheels reflects sunlight into my eyes while driving, so I swapped the black plastic bezel from a sport onto my gasser JLUR. This was swapping that black piece over to the oil burner.
  13. Advice With Warranty - Manual 2018 JL 2nd gear disengaging

Send @JeepCares a private message summarizing what you've said here and ask them to get involved. They should absolutely be working to have your transmission replaced under warranty. Documented historical issue and has nothing to do with the clutch beyond the faulty piece of equipment sitting...
  14. Interesting: steering wheel damper on Ecodiesel Wranglers

Swapping over the steering wheel trim from my 2020 to my 2022 last week, I came across this little nugget. It weighs right at 1.5lbs and sits in the steering wheel assembly. My assumption is the little oil burner rattles a hair too much for the banker crowd so Jeep added this to try and tame...
  15. Best spare tire reinforcement/mount for additional accessories?

While my total of 4 days experience with the product doesn't really qualify me to make any grand statements, I'm comfortable enough with the brand and what I've seen from the product to say that Teraflex's new hinge replacement is a good piece that has all kinds of upfitting potential built in...
  16. Wrangler Diesel Engine Questions

100% yes a throttle booster corrects the lag on the pedal. There is still a bit of lag before the torque really pours in, but it is typical turbo lag found on pretty much any turbo diesel engine. The vehicle feels like its supposed to after the addition of a throttle booster. This is my first...
  17. Rhino Rack (hopefully not a stupid) question

You should be able to download the installation instructions from Rhino Rack’s website for verification, too.
  18. Banks PedalMonster

I found maxxed out for it to be a little too touchy for my taste. I think I'm about 2/3 of the way up the middle setting and that feels pretty good without being too twitchy to me. Now that I have it set, I don't anticipate I'll change it (until I start thinking about power upgrades).
  19. Wrangler Diesel Engine Questions

Yessir, I just installed it about 30 minutes ago. Easy install, just unplugging the accelerator pedal, plugging the Banks cable in its place, and hooking it to the OBD-II port. It look longer to wind the 50ft of excess cord and route the Banks unit up out of the way than it did to "install"...
  20. Idaho Stock tire carrier, Rubicon, no front trail cam

Hey all, I'm returning my 2020 JLUR back to stock and need a stock tire carrier from a vehicle WITHOUT the front trail cam from the factory. The tire carrier off my 2022 JLURD that has the front trail cam won't accept the 2020 camera. Willing to put $100 cash in the hands of someone who can...
