I'll have to make an appointment and get a new "new" box installed. My cast iron box has at least 1/2 inch in each direction. Glad yours has no dead spot. That pull to the right is probably alignment or tire pressure.
Called my Dealer in North Atlanta on Monday. Part came in on Tuesday and installed today (Wednesday).
Jeep is stock except for Synergy trackbar brace and Fox Steering Stabilizer.
1. Wandering is gone.
2. Works fine with Synergy Trackbar Brace. (Dealer removed and reinstalled). Charged me an...
I just dropped my JL off at the dealership. Mentioned I had the track bar brace installed and left the original Nut in a bag on my passenger seat. My advisor just said we will reinstall with the synergy but instead of factory. I’ll find out Thursday and report back to you if they charged me...
Thanks for working on the NHSTA team. Share the correspondence along with contact names so we keep them honest on intent to address steering issues with JLs and Gladiators. Again.. Thank You!!
This was as Far as I could push the trackbar over and into the support bracket without forcing the trackbar into place. If I forced any farther right then the bushings bind on both ends and introduces a lot of squeaking. Synergy is aware of the problem on unlifted JLs and working on a fix. I...
You might have mentioned this before but if not lifted, put the factory trackbar back on. I have issues with my Synergy trackbar. It’s not fitting right and making noise. I put the factory back on to validate and was indeed the Synergy trackbar bushings. Make sure it’s torqued to 110 ft lbs
This is my 4th Wrangler.
1997 six cylinder/stick
2008 JKU rubi/auto
2015 JKU/ Sport S/auto
2020 JLU/Sport S/auto with Sun and Sound package
This is by far the worst steering vehicle I’ve owned. I’ve also owned Landcruisers with solid axles and 4 runners. This the first time ever joining a forum...
Maybe I’m just getting used to bad steering and it’s not really better. I switched back to factory trackbar because the synergy trackbar didn’t line up right. It’s definitely looser with factory one. I’m not giving up yet but the lemon lawyers should be trolling this site.
My old LX450 had solid axles and drove great. So did my JKs. This Jeep Thing is BS and need only apply to lifts, tires and removable doors/top. Sloppy factory steering is just sloppy engineering.
This helped a bunch. Need the synergy trackbar brace in addition to new stabilizer but this helped the wandering. My wife also thinks its so much safer to drive. Whoever originally posted this.. think it was CaliforniaJeeping but this was a lemon law saving post. Not sure If the software will...
Unless my 2020 is actually a rebadged 2019... This is completely wrong and the 2020 suffers the same issues as 2018 and 2019. My steering is awful. Wandering and sloppy steering from the factory.
Your power steering reset technique cured my wandering steering on 2020 JL Unlimited Sport S with 1,800 miles.
My adjustments so far.
Step 0. Had the dealer change the box to AE version. No improvement.
Step 1. Followed the YouTube video of TewlTalk and adjusted some of the play in my steering...
